After picking up our clients we proceed inland towards the town of Manacor, the second largest town in Mallorca, passing the village of Santa Margalida while our guide is giving you information on the tour itinerary and interesting local information.
On arrival in Manacor there will be a 40 minutes short visit to the pearl factory of Majorica where clients will have the opportunity to see the manufacturing process and learn the history of this emblematic Majorcan company.
The visit to the Caves of Drach takes approximately 80 minutes. You will follow the route through the caves, marvelling as each cavern gets bigger and more impressive as you progress. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy the classical music concert inside the Caves of Drach and to cross Lake Martel in a small wooden boat which is an experience unique in the world (included in the price). Lake Martel is one of the largest subterranean lakes in the world.
On the east coast area of Mallorca we enjoy a short sightseeing tour, stopping at the pretty Cala Mandia for a stroll and visiting a defensive watchtower from the 16th century. Both places make a great stop for taking memorable photos.
There is time for lunch when we stop at the seaside fishing town of Porto Cristo (90 minutes). Here the clients have free time to explore and the guide will recommend nice places to eat and local points of interest. Or if clients wish to go for a refreshing swim, they can hit the beach at Porto Cristo.
The final part of the tour includes a stop at a local liqueur establishment (30 minutes) this is free of charge and the clients are invited to taste as many local liqueurs as they wish. These include the popular local specialities of Hierbas and Palo.
Exclusive to Nofrills Excursions: all the kids will receive a pearl as a present from our company.
The excursion starts at approximately 09:15-09:45 and it ends at around 17:00-17:30.
The pick-up point and time is confirmed to you after you have made your booking. You will be picked up at your hotel or a nearby meeting point.
Went to caves of Drach with no frills excursions .. Bus was on time and journey was safe and satisfying .. Tour guide Juan was brilliant and was quite funny as well as entertaining . The Caves were amazing and the stops around Majorca were also very good. Overall everything was great!! Visited July 2015
A great day out for all the family! The coach arrived at the time and place stated to us. We booked the Caves of Drach tour and had a full day of sightseeing and visiting beautiful places and scenery along the east side of Majorca. We visited a pearl factory, the bell tower, Porto cristo beach, the caves and a liqueur tasting factory. Make sure your camera is fully charged for the amount of photos you're going to take!!! Catty, the tour guide kept is informed with historical info throughout the day, some very interesting facts! Thanks no frills for a lovely day.
No frills excursion Trip to the caves of Drach Picked up in Alcudia old town (the closest the bug bus could get to our villa. Picked up 15mins late but this was due to the bus having a small accident with a car on the way Juan was very apologetic about this Double decker bus, with good air con, Juan took much pride in his bus and driver Xisco. Good commentary on the way (although a little quietly spoken at times). A few stops on this trip, a manufactured pearl warehouse, some brief worker demonstrations but mostly sales. We didn't buy (there was no pressure to buy). Stopped in Monte Cristo for lunch and had baguettes from recommended shop (basic cheap food with little taste to be honest). The caves I had seen when I was a child, very busy on the walkway to and from the boat show Was not my cup of tea to be honest. Last stop for liqueur tasting/buying warehouse. Again no pressure to buy. I would recommend no frills for excursions, don't be confused by the name, we had a good experience in a new bus with smart and professional hosts. Visited July 2015
We went on the tour to the Caves of Drach and have to say our tour guide Juan was absolutely excellent, giving us lots of information and tips. The tour was competitively priced and good value. The only very slight criticism I would have is that I felt another 30 mins in Porto Cristo would have been nice. All in all though a great tour and would definitely recommend.
After a lovely welcome from our driver Xisco and tour guide Juan on 22nd July, we were treated to professional narrating from Juan, who also pointed out key photo opportunities. We had plenty of time and stops for souvenir buying, lunch and to stop at Juan's recommended home-made ice cream and dessert haunts! The exciting trip involved a fantastic boat trip (just the right length of time) and then an informative tram and train trip. It was also nice to have a caring guide who gave me successful tips when I felt a little unwell. Fantastic!
We joined the tour to the Caves Of Drach from a pick-up point in Porto Pollensa. The pick-up time was 9:00 a.m and the coach arrived bang on time. The coach was a double decker type and we sat upstairs for a better view.First on the itinerary was a visit to an opal factory where they obviously have a deal with the tour company to try and sell you their merchandise.Next was a short photo opportunity at a watchtower on the cliff tops.Thirdly was the Caves Of Drach which are impressive but very busy.Next was an hour and a half freetime in Porto Cristo and finally on to another money making deal at a large store selling liqueurs and various souvenirs.Juan the tour guides onboard spiel was both informative and witty,he does have a nice sense of humour. To sum up,a decent day out but could do without the "hard sell" stops. We joined the no frills tour to the caves of drach. We visited a pearl factory in the morning, then a couple of photo points and the caves. I felt we didn't get enough time at the caves and had to forfeit going on a boat on the underground lake as we would not have made it back to the coach on time. We went to Puerto Cristo for free time and had lunch then visited to shop on the way home for liquor tasting (over 20 to try). Overall it was a very enjoyable day trip and our guide Katie was both entertaining and informative, just could have done with an extra half hour at the caves. Visited July 2015
I really wanted to see the Caves of Drach with my 6-year-old son and had planned the visit with public transport when I saw that No Frills Excursions at Port de Pollença organised the visit. I went and asked for the price and was surprised to find there was only a very small difference to the individual trip... so I booked it, and it was absolutely perfect. Very professional, friendly, with several interesting stations (Pearl Factory, liquor tasting, beach in Porto Christo...) on the way that make the busride pass quickly. Buses comfortable. No wait for the tickets at the caves. The driver Xisco and the guide Juan were really nice, even when my son felt sick on the bus. Children are treated as important clients and are even given a small present! Very informative tips given by the guide. The caves themselves are an unforgettable experience, a must-see on the island, and I really don't see any reason why one would want to visit them without booking the trip with No Frills. Thanks! Our experience with No Frills was excellent from start to finish. The coach was on time and the guide Juan and driver Cisco very welcoming. We booked through our hotel front desk, 40 euros each. For this we received a tour of the pearl factory, entry and time at the caves, a stop off in the beautiful Porto Cristo and some time liquor tasting. Juan gave a very local flavour being Majorcan and kept the journey interesting. The pearl factory was interesting to see, but the real treat came with the Caves of Drach. What can I say, nature is absolutely beautiful, be sure to take a fully charged camera. The classical concert and little boat trip at the end top off the visit. Porto Cristo is absolutely beautiful, and you can see why it is more expensive to stay there! Still they pointed us to a place where lunch was reasonable (5 or so euros for a warm baguette) The liquor tasting was fun, with lots to try and buy. At the end of the day we were returned right back to where we started with plenty of time to go off and enjoy our evening. Perfect, hassle free experience. Visited September 2015
