Full day excursion
from April to October
After picking up our clients we proceed inland towards the town of Manacor, the second largest town in Mallorca, passing the village of Santa Margalida while the guide is giving you information on the tour itinerary and interesting local information.
On arrival in Manacor there will be a 40 minutes short visit to the pearl factory of Majorica where clients will have the opportunity to see the manufacturing process and learn the history of this emblematic Majorcan company.
The visit to the Caves of Drach takes approximately 80 minutes. Here you will have the opportunity to enjoy the classical music concert and cross the lake Martel in small wooden boats which is an experience unique in the world. Lake Martel is one of the largest subterranean lakes in the world.
In the East coast area of Mallorca we do a sightseeing tour stopping at the pretty Cala Mandia for a stroll. Clients will also have the opportunity to visit a defence watchtower from the 16th century. Both places make a great stop for taking memorable photos.
There is opportunity for lunch when we stop at the seaside fishing village of Porto Cristo (90 minutes), here the clients have free time to explore and the guide will recommend nice places to eat and local points of interest and the beach if clients wish to go for a refreshing swim.
The final part of the tour includes a stop at a local liqueur establishment (30 minutes) this is free of charge and the clients are invited to taste as many local liqueurs as they wish. These include the popular local specialities of hierbas and Palo.
Exclusive to Nofrills Excursions: all the kids will receive a pearl as a present from our company.
The excursion starts at approximately 09:15 and it ends at around 17:15.
The pick-up point and time is confirmed to you after you have made your booking. You will be picked up at your hotel or a nearby meeting point.
Booked three excursions through this company. Went to Drach caves and Porte Cristo with Juan who was very good. He checked that everyone was present before leaving both places. He allowed us plenty of time for photos and even took some of us which he put on face book. (he gave us the opportunity to decline). Only thing I didn't like was the length of time picking up passengers as it was a 93 seat double decker bus. It was quicker on the way back as traffic was quieter. Also went with different guide Kat to Porte Soller and Valledmosa. Both places were well worth going to see. We would highly recommend using No Frills Excursions. They have lots of different trips around Majorca. Much cheaper than some of the rep tours.
I think I can give you one word to sum up this excursion; WOW! We were on holiday in Port d Alcudia and fancied a day out of the resort to see something of the island of Mallorca. We booked the excursion via the hotel reception - I'll add another review for the hotel later - costing us 40 euros each. At the time I thought it seemed a little expensive, but what the hell, we were on holiday & like all good holiday makers, if you've got it in your pocket you're gonna spend it. The bus was extremely comfortable that's a bonus, and the driver, Rafa, was superb. Juan the tour guide was, well probably the best I've ever come across, together they were a fantastic team. Rafa drove the bus really smoothly, even in tight Mallorca streets and Juan kept us all so entertained with his running commentary of the island, as my wife said to me on the way home to the UK "Juan brought the island to life for us and we must go back again and again" The first part of the tour was to see the Mallorcan pearls been made in a factory by hand. This was quit interesting but I didn't really take to it being a male, the wife enjoyed it of course and she made me promise that id buy her some pearls, which of course I did at the Monday market in Alcudia. WE then went onto the highlight of the tour, the caves of Drach. Juan had told us on the way there that this was the 8th wonder of the world & boy oh boy was he right. Its quit hard going and there's lots of walking and steps but slowly you descend into the caves with the most fantastic stalactites and stalagmites' in wondrous settings all around you, you then get to the main part, the largest underwater lake in Europe. By the time you get to the lake there are lots of other folk around you and you then get a seat looking down on the lake, before you know it the lights go out and its pitch black....really dark believe me. Just as you are becoming accustomed to the light and temperature you can here music coming form afar. Then three large row boats appear from the far end of the lake with one of them having an orchestra playing classical music lit with dim lighting. IT felt absolutely magical. Once the boats had travelled across the lake and back the lights came back on and you are faced with a choice, 1.) go back along the path you travelled down or 2) Queue for a boat ride across the lake, and walk back up via another route. Well, its a once in a lifetime visit so we just had to get the boat. I'll be honest, we had to queue for about 25mins but it didn't matter because it was worth the wait, again magical. After leaving the caves, and at no time did Juan or Rafa rush us, we travelled on to Porto Cristo, with Juan telling us all he history etc. of the area, Rafa to us off on a few side roads to take so photos at some stunning locations and we then had a couple hors to explore the town. ON the way back to our resort we/the coach stopped off for a liquor tasting session, very nice too with twenty local drinks to try. As I Said at the start of this review, initially I thought the 40 euros each seemed a lot of money, but the whole day was an experience that ill never forget, so well worth the cost. I would like to thank Juan & Rafa for making the day so perfect, and Juan; if you should read this I Hope the Almond harvest went Okay on the Saturday? We will look you up next year and offer to help you. If you want/need any further info about our trip please send me a message.

Our tour guide Juan and driver Rafa really looked after us from the moment we were picked up to the moment we were dropped off. We were in safe hands throughout the trip to the Caves of Drach. This was an all-day excursion and we had several stop offs to different places for photos, to the pearl factory outlet and liquor tasting. The coach was air-conditioned and offered a good view all-round of the surrounding areas. The Caves themselves were incredible. Like an alien world. I would thoroughly recommend this tour which is suitable for individuals of all ages, couples and families alike. (Juan is great with the little ones!) Many thanks to Juan and No frills for making our holiday amazing!! :)
Just returned from a week in Puerto Pollensa Majorca and decided to visit the Caves of Drach, what a great day out. Juan the tour guide was brilliant and funny he recommended where to go for lunch and it was well worth the money. We also visited where they make the Pearls and had a Liquor tasting as well. I would definitely recommend No Frills Excursions the trip cost 40 euros and that included the cost of going into the Caves so good value for money I would say.
We had an amazing day with No Frills. The trip started with a tour of a Pearl factory, which was OK, but only there for 45 minutes. Very overpriced for alcohol souvenirs. There was a small park next door with dinosaurs in garden so we went and had a look at that instead. Caves of Drach was amazing, could have done with another 30 minutes or so, didn't miss anything, just didn't get time for the Gift Shop. Went to Porto Cristo for lunch, lovely seaside town with harbour. Food and drink quite pricey compared to Alcudia, but well worth it. Last stop at Ceramic and alcohol tasting shop. A good excuse for a few shots if you're that way inclined. Alcohol overpriced, some double to what was being charged in shops in Alcudia, so shop around! Back to strip by 5ish. Great day, well worth it!!
We did the Island Tour and Caves of Drach tour with No Frills. Our guide was Juan and he was fabulous. He was always full of enthusiasm and explained everything so well. We were well entertained with his anecdotes and his jokes! His daughter Aine came to help out on the Island Tour and she was equally helpful. We had a great driver with Xisco taking us safely through the winding mountain roads. We spent a great couple of days exploring the island and really enjoyed it.
We had 2 trips one of the island tour the other the caves of drach. Our tour guide for both was Juan. What a lovely guide, he treated us (the Bramhall family) as royalty. The tours where fantastic, thanks Juan for the special treatment we had on the train journey through the mountains. The bus drivers were excellant and we felt very safe with those very winding mountain roads. I hope Chisco(sorry for the spelling) you get another chance to visit Cardiff. Excellant tours on both days, never felt rushed. Would recommend tours to all.
We went to the Caves of Drach via the Pearl Factory and several scenic view stops. We then stopped in Porto Cristo and returned via a liqueur tasting. The whole trip was well organised and we were given lots of interesting information during the journey, which we would not have found out if we had driven ourselves. I last visited the caves in 1971 and the experience has changed since then, and has been spoilt by the significant number of visitors constantly taking photos on their mobiles, instead of actually enjoying the wonder of the caves! The coach tour experience was enjoyable and I would recommend.
An incredible holiday with 3 superb and fantastically organised trips with no frills. Juan was amazing. So knowledgeable and funny at the same time. Jeannie and Pete were also fantastic. Juan, Henry, Aina & Xisco make an awesome team!
