Description for our excursion Rural Mallorca

This excursion has been one of the most succesful excursions last year. It is unique and very different compared to any other existing excursion in Mallorca. Let us explain you what we do:

Once we have picked up the clients, we go to Maria de la Salut, arriving at around 09:50. Maria de la Salut is a small, typical village situated in the Mallorcan plains. There, we visit the tiny weekly market and the stunning baroque church square. We give clients 40 minutes free time to enjoy the village and we buy some white onions at the market. These onions will be needed later on for lunch, and our guide will explain you why we buy these kind of onions while he shows you how to do your shopping at a local market.

Then we drive to Binissalem, arriving at about 11:15 and the clients can take a look around the small, local market and help our guide select the fruit and vegetables for lunch. In Binissalem the clients also visit a typical wine cellar as Binissalem is Mallorca’s most important wine region. There we buy the wine for lunch. Also in Binissalem we visit a traditional Mallorcan townhouse so the clients can see the typical architecture of the old Mallorca houses.

We continue to the old farm cottage, getting there around 13:20 where our chef will have ready a glass of wine to welcome you. Then, we will start to prepare the lunch:

    • First we will show you how to do a pa amb oli, one of the most famous dishes in our gastronomy. It is very easy to prepare and we will do it with the ingredients bought during the day.your help to prepare a "trampo" which is a mallorcan salad. We will cut some onions, tomatoes and green pepper
    • Once the "trampo" is ready, our chef will have the BBQ done: a piece of chicken and a piece of pork meat.
    • The dessert will be fresh fruit bought at the local markets during the excursion. Please not we always select local fruits!

During lunch drinks are included: you can drink as much water and wine as you want, so you will probably be very very happy at the end of the excursion!

The clients can enjoy the farm cottage from inside and take pictures of the beautiful scenery that surrounds it in this lush part of Santa Maria.

After lunch we join the motorway to take the clients back to resort, arriving in resort at around 17:00.

Travelling alone, I felt dubious about going on an excursion, but I was made to feel very welcome by this company and I had a wonderful day out and met lots of great people.

We too enjoyed the Rural Mallorca trip last Tuesday 18th September. Michael was an excellent guide and was extremely informative about Mallorca and its history and the local area. The trip to the bodega was very interesting and we also enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at the finca where we stopped for an excellent lunch.

I want to add my sincere thanks to that of everyone else on the tour – I can honestly say it is one of the most enjoyable I have done – in no small part to yourself I have to say. Being part of the actual buying and cooking process made the adventure more memorable and Alison and I sat with a lovely couple at lunch – sunshine, wine, good food and convivial company – you can’t be it in my opinion!

What an enjoyable day. Very simple pleasures, very different, it was great as we got to know each other and participated not only in the wine tasting, but in preparing lunch. Mike, Chico and Juan were the perfect hosts, and we would recommend this tour to all.. A very big thank you for a great time. Hopefullysee you again

Went on the Rural Mallorca excursion on Fri 19th Aug and had a brilliant time. The guide, Michael, was informative and friendly, we went to some out-of-the-way places only known to locals and we visited a local wine cellar and a local finca (house). The wine in the wine cellar was sold to us straight from the barrel, the food for lunch was chosen by ourselves at the market (was delicious too) and we even got to see "granny" before we went to granny's finca for a barbecue feast! Thanks for a great day out and a chance to see the rustic side of Mallorca.

A big thankyou to Tony and Xisco for helping to make our visit to Puerto Pollensa such a memorable one. Hubby and I took 3 tours with them, the coach, tram, boat, train and home again on the coach. Could have listened to these two guys talking all day as they have such attractive accents not to mention their sense of humour. We also went on the Rural Majorca trip, helping to buy the veggies etc at

Last Friday we had the best day of our holiday with the No Frills tour Rural Mallorca. The guide, Michael was very friendly and imformative, and made us laugh the whole time.We visited Grandmas house where we learnt how to make Pamboli and salad, Then the bus driver barbequed the pork and chicken and we all had a lovely meal with the wine that we'd also bought from the Winery in the next town.I will use No Frills for all my excursions next time as they are friendly and fun and are cheaper than the hotels outings.

It was lots of fun, and I make pam boli at home. I love it . The guide was Toni, and Toni is the best ever in the whole wide world . The bus was driven by Alfonso, and he is the best driver in Mallorca . The bus was tidy and very bumpy and fun so we had fun I would do it again . Toni was funny and bright.
