Alcudia Dolphin Watching and Sunrise Boat Trip:

What we do on our  trip:

Fom May to October you have the opportunity to participate in this marvellous excursion to see dolphins in the sea, together with the stunning sunrise in the Bay of Alcudia.

We begin our excursion enjoying the sunrise from our boat and watching as the sky illuminates with brilliant colours on Mallorca’s horizon as the day dawns.

You can take photos or videos to remember this wonderful experience all your life.

On the return trip you can enjoy breakfast aboard the boat with pastries, toast, ham, cheese, butter, marmalade, coffee, tea and juice.

So we pre-paid in the weeks before flying to Majorca and printed our tickets as advised. On waiting at the beach (Las Gaviotas) in an orderly manner we were suddenly joined by what seemed like hundreds of Germans - who typically barged their way to the front of the queue! On boarding the boat nobody asked to see any proof of payment - from anyone. The crew talked their way through an overview in Spanish, English and German and advised passengers of the itinerary. Before we knew it an announcement came over the PA that a family of dolphins was in front of the boat. With that our friends the Germans again barged their way to the sides of the boat - elbows everywhere as they fought for prime video-taking stances. My wife took our 3 year old daughter for a view of the dolphins and she was pushed and pulled by so many different people that in the end they gave up and returned to our seats in the centre of the upstairs deck. We then stopped in a bay for the snack breakfast and headed back. Having forked out €136 for the three of us I do feel that the whole thing could have been better managed by more intervention by those in the crew. In effect the trip is a free-for-all so it didn't match our expectations. Our daughter did not enjoy the experience as we hoped she would and so on reflection the fee paid seems too high.
