Playa de Muro is a very popular resort in the bay of Alcudia, and a very popular destination for holidaymakers coming to Mallorca. Finding things to do in Playa de Muro is very easy at nofrills-excursions, as you will find in our website many tours, day trips, activities and suggestions about what to do in Playa de Muro on your holiday.
The bay of Alcudia, where Playa de Muro lies, is a perfect place for activities related to the sea. Our first suggestion is a boat or catamaran trip. The bay of Alcudia is the biggest bay in Mallorca, and from the pier in Playa de Muro we have some great options for boat trips: a boat trip to Formentor beach, a speed boat, a scenic cruise to Formentor lighthouse…
For those who prefer a catamaran trip, the Anacaona catamaran offers a great value for money catamaran tour with 3 snorkeling stops, activities such as kayaking and stand up paddle and a delicious lunch with drinks. This catamaran trip departs from Port de Alcudia, but clients from Playa de Muro have a free shuttle ferry to join the tour. Other options for boat and catamaran trips are from Port de Pollensa, and these tours include pick up by the hotels in the Playa de Muro.
If you are looking for something different to do from Playa de Muro, we recommend you a dolphin watching trip. This trip is been very popular during the last season, and it combines the sunrise and dolphin spotting, so you can see dolphins swimming in wild in the waters of the Bay of Alcudia. A well worth excursion!
The beach in Playa de Muro is fantastic. It is a long wide sandy beach and the sea is not very deep. There are many things to do there: to relax sunbathing, to swim in its crystal waters, to take the 2 hours glass bottom boat or to do a jet ski tour, amongst other water activities.
Playa de Muro is situated close to the resorts of Port de Alcudia and Can Picafort, both can be easily visited by local public bus that runs every 20 minutes and has many stops on the main road. In Alcudia old town there are many things to do and to visit: the old walls, Alcudia church, the Roman city of Pollentia, the town hall… Don’t forget every Tuesday and Sunday, Alcudia has a local market from 9 until 14:00. You can easily reach Alcudia from the Port by local public bus. A great way to see the resort and the old town is the open top bus tour that runs daily and does a tour in the resort, the port and the old town with live commentary. This open top bus tour has a stop close to Playa de Muro by the hotel Eden Alcudia, and it runs 3 times a day.
A very interesting day trip for those who love walking and nature is to the Albufera nature park area. S’Albufera is the largest and most important wetland area in the Balearics, is a former lagoon separated from the sea by a belt of dunes, which for many centuries – but especially in the last two as a result of human influence – has filled up with sediments converting it into an extensive flood plain. The Natural Park affords protection to some 1708 hectares of marshes and dunes.
Playa de Muro is not famous for its nightlife or for being a disco resort, so if you are on a party mood you might have to head to the resort of Port de Alcudia where you find the Magic disco complex, the Enjoy pub and the Marina area. If you are looking for a great night out in the party resort of Magalluf, an option is to join the Magalluf Party bus that runs every Wednesday leaving the Alcudia resort at around 20:00 and getting back at around 06:00. Eating out in Playa de Muro: Playa de Muro has a wide offer in restaurants and places where to eat out. Being a touristic resort, there is always something for everybody, from local cuisine to international cuisine or fast food. If you like meat, Boy restaurant is the best place to go, with fantastic service and many choices for meat lovers. If you want something special, go to Fusion19 where they have a gastronomic tasting course menu that can be accompanied by wine pairing. Also S'Olivaret Restaurant is another good choice, serving hearty dishes of home cooked Mallorcan food in a pretty setting.
In Mallorca there are only 3 water parks, and one of them is situated in the resort of Port de Alcudia. It is the Hidropark, and despite being the smallest water park in Mallorca, it offers a great variety of water slides, a wave pool and many areas for children. You can easily get there by taxi or by local bus.
Other water parks in Mallorca are situated in the south area of the island, and these are the Aqualand Arenal (the biggest water park with some of the best water slides) and the Western Water Park (a theme style water park with lots of water slides and a great choice to spend a day in the water). To both of them, we organise bus tours that include pick up at the hotels in Port Alcudia and the entrance to the water park.
