Please bear in mind that there are two different itineraries depending on the day you choose to visit the Caves of Drach. Independently of the day you decide to take the trip the tour around the Caves of Drach themselves is always the same:
The visit has a duration of approximately 80 minutes. You will follow the route through the caves, marvelling as each cavern gets bigger and more impressive as you progress. The highlight of your visit will be enjoying the classical music concert inside the Caves of Drach and crossing Lake Martel's spectacular waters in a small wooden boat. This boat ride is a unique experience in the world and is included in the price. Lake Martel is one of the largest subterranean lakes that exist. During the visit you will also witness a magical light show that recreates the sunrise.
If you opt on taking part on a Monday you will visit the Caves of Drach and Porto Cristo:
Once everybody is on board our coach we proceed inland towards the town of Manacor, the second largest town in Mallorca. On our way we will be passing small traditional villages, which are very different to the tourist resort, such as Santa Margalida. Throughout the journey our guide will share useful and interesting information about the tour's itinerary as well as giving you an insight into the local culture .
On arrival in Manacor there will be a 40 minutes visit to the Majorica pearl factory. There you will have the opportunity to see the rigourous pearl manufacturing process and learn about the history of one of Majorca's most emblematic companies. While there you will also be able to purchase goods at outlet prices. The perfect remembrance for you or your dearest ones from your holiday in Mallorca.
The visit to the Caves of Drach will then take place as stated above.
On the East Coast area of Mallorca we will make a short photo stop at a defensive watchtower from the 16th century where you can take memorable photos and have fun learning about the pirates of Mallorca.
You will have time for lunch when we stop at the seaside fishing town of Porto Cristo (90 minutes). Here you have free time to explore, relax, eat and enjoy its beach. Lunch is not included but the guide will recommend nice places to eat and local points of interest. Also, if you wish to you can go for a refreshing swim in Porto Cristo's stunning turquoise waters or simply sunbathe on the beautiful sandy beach.
To round off such a great day, the final part of the tour includes a stop at a local liqueur establishment (30 minutes). There, free of charge, you will be treated to taste as many local liqueurs, with flavours that go from herbal to berries, as you wish. These include the popular local specialities of Hierbas and Palo which are a must when trying the liqueurs.
If you opt on taking part on a Wednesday you will visit the Caves of Drach and Sineu Market:
Once everybody is onboard we will make our way through the island's inland towards the picturesque village of Sineu. There we will be stopping for about 1 hour so that you can stroll around what is Mallorca's oldest market. There you will be able to see everything you can imagine being sold, from fruit and vegetables to live animals!
Then it will be time to head, again through inland roads to Manacor.
While we are on the East Coast area of Mallorca we will make a short photo stop at a defensive watchtower from the 16th century where you can take memorable photos and have fun learning about the pirates of Mallorca.

It was a great day out. Comfortable bus and excellent crew. Juan is the best guide ever.... lots information about the history of Mallorca and a lot of funny stories during the whole trip. I would recommend this company to everyone visiting Mallorca.
Katalina (Katy) was an excellent hostess. she was bright bubbly and very knowledgable about the history of Mallorca .although we are still looking in the UK supermarkets for potatoes from Mallorca. The coach was in excellent condition , with air conditioning and comfortable seating. had an absolutely lovely day. Toni and Seamus well done with the no frills idea. the liquor tasting was awesome and got some great gifts from here .. The Caves of Drach are a must visit and the no frills excursion is an excellent ways to visit this breathtaking natural phenonomum along with all the other historic sites on the trip. excellent value for money. well done Katalina and Pedro Gill and Joe 1. 10.14
After first using No Frills last year we knew we would get value for our money, this year we did the Caves of Drach's tour, We had Ester as our courier for the day who was very knowledgeable, we started off by visiting the pearl factory in Manacor which was very interesting, before heading to the coast to some small cala's (bays) then on to the Caves of Drach, all the time Ester was telling us interesting facts about the East side of the Island, the caves are amazing and when down to the bottom where the lake is you take a seat and are entertained by a small floating orchestra playing classical music, after leaving the caves you continue to the small harbour town on Porto Cristo for a lunch stop, then on the way back to your resort we stopped for some wine tasting, good job it at the end of the day as you have over 20 to taste, the whole day was very full of information and enjoyment, worth every euro, keep it up No Frill
We booked two tours online before we flew out to Mallorca. The first ( caves of drach) was excellent, ester the tour guide was very informative and obviously enjoyed what she did, nothing was too much bother, a highly recommended day out.... The following day we did the rustic/rural tour, micheal the guide was superb another employee who enjoys what he does and is passionate about the island. The highlight of the caves tour was the liquor tasting session on the way home hic hic and the highlight of the rural tour was saint micheal the guide. Jobs a goodun.
I booked the Caves of Drach excursion with my boyfriend and we had a really fun day. We were well looked after, were given plenty of time at each stop and a nice tour. The Caves were just incredible. It was great value for money. I would recommend to anyone going to the area to book an excursion with them. Even the customer service when booking was lovely, a really nice team of people. They spoke good English too!
We booked to go to the caves of drach with No frills Excursions. From the moment we got onto the coach our guide, Katerin, was so welcoming and witty. She had the whole coach in stitches as well as being informative. The coach driver Kristo was also good fun and was obviuos that these people enjoy their job and made the whole day enjoyable. As well as visiting the caves we visited Mallarco where pearls are made ( always thought they came from oysters),had a lovely lunch break in lovely Porto Cristi and had a free liquor tasting session on the way back. Really enjoyed the company and the trip.
I recently returned home from Alcudia and I travelled with No Frills on 2 excursions....Duncan in the office organised it for me and I must say it was well worth it...Thanks Duncan...Bus driver and guide were excellent....made it very enjoyable...plenty of free time to explore places as well....Well done No Frills...will travel with ye again.....
We found No Frills Excursions to be good value, informative - often with a little humour thrown in for good measure - and interesting. We were based in Porto Pollenca and went on an Island Tour, a visit to Palma, and a trip to the Caves of Drach with No Frills, and the guides (Cati and Pete) were great fun and very knowledgable. The coaches were comfortable and air conditioned and well driven. All the excursions we went on took us through some dramatic and fantastic views and scenery; the Island Tour is a great way to get a flavour of Mallorca and involves transport by coach, boat, wooden train and tram. The Caves of Drach excursion was fantastic too, stunning caves and again, we saw some amazing scenery. We highly recommend No Frills Excursions.
Booked three excursions through this company. Went to Drach caves and Porte Cristo with Juan who was very good. He checked that everyone was present before leaving both places. He allowed us plenty of time for photos and even took some of us which he put on face book. (he gave us the opportunity to decline). Only thing I didn't like was the length of time picking up passengers as it was a 93 seat double decker bus. It was quicker on the way back as traffic was quieter. Also went with different guide Kat to Porte Soller and Valledmosa. Both places were well worth going to see. We would highly recommend using No Frills Excursions. They have lots of different trips around Majorca. Much cheaper than some of the rep tours.
I think I can give you one word to sum up this excursion; WOW! We were on holiday in Port d Alcudia and fancied a day out of the resort to see something of the island of Mallorca. We booked the excursion via the hotel reception - I'll add another review for the hotel later - costing us 40 euros each. At the time I thought it seemed a little expensive, but what the hell, we were on holiday & like all good holiday makers, if you've got it in your pocket you're gonna spend it. The bus was extremely comfortable that's a bonus, and the driver, Rafa, was superb. Juan the tour guide was, well probably the best I've ever come across, together they were a fantastic team. Rafa drove the bus really smoothly, even in tight Mallorca streets and Juan kept us all so entertained with his running commentary of the island, as my wife said to me on the way home to the UK "Juan brought the island to life for us and we must go back again and again" The first part of the tour was to see the Mallorcan pearls been made in a factory by hand. This was quit interesting but I didn't really take to it being a male, the wife enjoyed it of course and she made me promise that id buy her some pearls, which of course I did at the Monday market in Alcudia. WE then went onto the highlight of the tour, the caves of Drach. Juan had told us on the way there that this was the 8th wonder of the world & boy oh boy was he right. Its quit hard going and there's lots of walking and steps but slowly you descend into the caves with the most fantastic stalactites and stalagmites' in wondrous settings all around you, you then get to the main part, the largest underwater lake in Europe. By the time you get to the lake there are lots of other folk around you and you then get a seat looking down on the lake, before you know it the lights go out and its pitch black....really dark believe me. Just as you are becoming accustomed to the light and temperature you can here music coming form afar. Then three large row boats appear from the far end of the lake with one of them having an orchestra playing classical music lit with dim lighting. IT felt absolutely magical. Once the boats had travelled across the lake and back the lights came back on and you are faced with a choice, 1.) go back along the path you travelled down or 2) Queue for a boat ride across the lake, and walk back up via another route. Well, its a once in a lifetime visit so we just had to get the boat. I'll be honest, we had to queue for about 25mins but it didn't matter because it was worth the wait, again magical. After leaving the caves, and at no time did Juan or Rafa rush us, we travelled on to Porto Cristo, with Juan telling us all he history etc. of the area, Rafa to us off on a few side roads to take so photos at some stunning locations and we then had a couple hors to explore the town. ON the way back to our resort we/the coach stopped off for a liquor tasting session, very nice too with twenty local drinks to try. As I Said at the start of this review, initially I thought the 40 euros each seemed a lot of money, but the whole day was an experience that ill never forget, so well worth the cost. I would like to thank Juan & Rafa for making the day so perfect, and Juan; if you should read this I Hope the Almond harvest went Okay on the Saturday? We will look you up next year and offer to help you. If you want/need any further info about our trip please send me a message.
