Join us at Nofrills Excursions on our unique full day trip to the valley of Soller and Valldemossa. This trip will take us first to the spectacular Valley of Soller famous for its splendid orange and lemon groves as well as its quaint original tram ride which is included in the price. Visiting these areas will allow you to discover the island's most natural beauty, making you fall in love with the precious landscapes you will be witnessing through out the day.
We will arrive in Soller Valley at around 10:30. First we will visit the Port of Soller where you will have about one hour free time so that you can stroll around and explore this charming natural port.
At around 11:30 we will take the tram to go to the old village of Soller where you can take a pleasant walk to see the most important landmarks of the village such as the main square, Can Prunera Museum, Soller's modernist-style bank, the church of Soller and many more interesting places.
You will also have time to relax in Soller as you enjoy an orange juice or an orange ice cream both a must in this valley famous for its delicious oranges.
If you like art, you can also have a look at the Picasso Ceramic Museum. We will be staying in Soller for about 90 minutes and there will be enough time for lunch (not included). In the town of Soller you will find a wide range of cafes and restaurants where you can eat anything from typical Mallorcan dishes, a menu of the day or just a quick bite.
After Soller, we board the coach for a delightful sightseeing ride through the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range which has been named world heritage site and is protected by UNESCO. We will pass the picturesque towns of Llucalcari and Deia. Have your camera ready because the day is not over yet, as our final stop is the pretty town of Valldemossa.
In Valldemossa you can stroll through the peaceful cobbled streets or relax and enjoy a coffee while you devour one of the local delicacies such as the 'coca de patatas' (small potato-based sponge cake) as at this time of the day we usually have the charming town to ourselves. You can join our guide for a relaxed walk around the streets or visit at your own pace the Carthusian Monastery and the famous composer Chopin's House (entrances are not included in the price).
We will be in Valldemossa for about an hour and half, and then our coach will take us back to resort.
We have created a thoughtful itinerary for you to make sure that you have the opportunity to visit these 3 stunning places in a day, combining tram and bus.
The excursion starts at 09:00 and ends at around 17:45.
The pick-up point and time are confirmed to you after you have made your booking. You will be picked up at your hotel or a nearby meeting point. Once you make the reservation you will receive two emails:
We went on the trip to Soller and Valdemossa. The places are wonderful to visit and this is a good way to visit them. It is a long day as like many coach trips there is always the picking up and dropping off. However the rep on the coach Juan was entertaining and his driver Gerardo very comfortable on some difficult roads. One problem that needs to be emphasised is that there are two 15 minute walks, one after leaving the coach at Soller to walk to the Port and then from the town of Soller back to pick up the coach. Our coach was fortunate not to have passengers that may struggle on the walks, so it needs to be borne in mind when considering this value for money trip.
We chose the trip that took us to Port De Soller for coffee then we boarded the 100 year old tram which took us to the town of Soller with time for lunch and a look round. Being inland away from the breeze the temperatures were high - 37'5 according to the thermometer! We then went to Valldamosa - a charming village with narrow streets and pretty houses with lots of flowers. There was time to look around the museum but we chose to simple chill out at a little bar after exploring the streets
A brilliant and well organised trip made even better by our guide Juan, a knowledgable and amusing gentleman full of intersting facts and information about Majorca. We were picked up bang on time outside our hotel in Cala San Vicente by our excellent driver Gerado and the trip began. Port De Soller and the tram trip to Soller were beautiful with enough time to have a good look round both places, then on to Valldemossa through the village of Deya both stunning places, and all the time Juan giving out facts and information about the areas we were going through as well as a lot of laughs on the way. A very enjoyable day had by the four of us, and thanks for the almonds Juan, ours are in our new yaucht in Puerto Pollenca harbour, but we haven't got the keys for it yet and yes we named them Jaun and Gerado :-) Visited June 2014
We stayed in Puerto Pollensa and probably like most people look at various tourist attraction to visit. The hotel had a day excursion which was a day out to Valdermosa and Soller. I spend a lot of time driving and before we came out I looked to see how I could get to Soller. The trip is a long one from Puerto Pollensa back to Palma and then a train out to Soller. We signed up for this trip and were picked up outside the Hotel then proceeded to other pick up points before we set off on the drive to the mountains on the Bendy, Bendy road as described by the tour guide. The views were amazing and you should sit on the right hand side to get the best views unless looking down at a precipate drop is not your scene. We were informed about the olive trees, black olives, green olives and the arabic invasion along with terrace walls what we see today being hundreds of years of age. We arrived in the port of Soller its a short walk as the bus cannot get into the port, the sun was shining making the water reflect a deep blue. We had time to walk around and see the sights before getting on the tram and heading off to Soller town, included in the price. On arriving we were advised that we could get a reduced price lunch at the local cafe which consisted of a bagguet with olives and salad and washed down with a freshly squashed orange juice well recommended. It was market day and we went for a stroll around Soller looking at various shops and stalls. We then took a short stroll back to the bus and headed off to Valdermosa, now this is where Fredric Chopin stayed during a winter with his Mistress, you can visit his bedroom and Piano in the Monastry. After an hour or so we went back to the bus and headed back to the hotel, on the way we were informed of Majorca produce and Raffa Nadal and other interesting facts. It was definitely value for money and you get to see a lot of the island which you probably would not see if you were driving up the Bendy, Bendy road.
Whilst on holiday in Porto Pollenca Majorca we booked two excursions with No Feills. The first was a day trip to Palma with Guide Juan and driver Xcisco. Juan was very knowledgable and had no trouble switching between English and German language when explaining where we were and places of interest . He also had a good sense of humour which was evident through the trip. Our second trip was a full day visiting Soller and Valdamossa with Guide Katalina and driver Pedro. Again, a very interesting and informative trip with plenty of free time to explore once Kat had given information, history and directions of places of interest. Both drivers were excellent especially Pedro's handling of the 'bendy bendy' roads in and out of Valdamossa. Well worth the prices paid for these trips.
I took my family on the Valldemossa & Soller trip and the trip to Marine Land with No Frills. The little kiosk was in an easy to find location in Port de Pollenca and the sales lady was informative and friendly and not pushy. The guide for Valldemossa & Soller was Catalina who was very friendly, charismatic and had a good sense of humour and provided lots of local information as though she was telling it for the first time - quite an achievement I imagine. I cannot recall the guides name for the Marine Land trip but she was very helpful and pleasant though due to the nature of the trip a lot quieter. Obviously driving straight up the motorway to a water park doesn't offer quite the same opportunity for cultural snippets as a site seeing tour. Basically they do exactly what it says on the ad for your excursion with no fuss and friendly staff. The only downside for me was that on both occasions my 3 year old daughter had cleaned me out of every single penny in drinks, ice creams and souvenirs by the time we did our return journey and I had not a single penny to show my appreciation in the drivers tip basket. And it was the same guy both times ! Oh the shame !! I will have to make up for it next time.
We did this excursion on 7th October my Birthday, and a Birthday to remember a visit to the beautiful harbour and tram at Soller then onto picturesque Valerdemosa, well worth it so don't miss these bendy roads with knowledgable tour guide Kati and driver juan.
My wife and I took the trip to Soller and Valdamossa on 03 May. It proved to be an interesting day out, especially so because of Juan, the guide. Not only did he give an informative commentary, he also showed a good sense of humour, which made for a pleasant atmosphere throughout the day. I did find the stop offs at a number of hotels at the end of the trip rather tedious. We were told when we booked that we would be back at our hotel before 6:00 pm but did not in fact get back until 7:00 pm. However, it was still a good trip out and everyone was given a free almond by Juan as a souvenir !
We booked online about a month before we went, and visited Palma, Caves of Drach and Porto Cristo, and Soller and Valldemossa with No Frills. We also booked horse riding with them. They picked us up at the time specified, the tour guides were very helpful, knowledgeable and funny! (Claudia, Juan and particularly Katalina). Cheaper than booking with hotel reps, and very good service.
Excellent trip and fantastic and knowledgeable commentary from Catalina. Highly recommended !
