The Island Tour excursion will keep you charmed all day thanks to its different parts: road, sea and rails, with plenty of free time in between. You will be taken down the spectacular west coast of Mallorca where you will see some of the most breathtaking views in the Mediterranean. There you will discover the UNESCO protected Serra de Tramuntana mountain range with our knowledgeable guide who will be giving you interesting information on the towns and sights we come across during the day.
Once everybody has been picked up by coach the tour proceeds to the stunning Tramuntana Mountain Range where we can enjoy the views that this area offers as we drive along the breathtaking and much photographed mountain road to Sa Calobra where you will be able to take some great photographs.
Then we will arrive at Sa Calobra where you will have free time to relax and enjoy the dreamy landscape. We always make sure we arrive early so we can see Sa Calobra at its best, when it's quiet and peaceful before other tour groups get there. This means that our clients can discover the Torrent de Paréis gorge at their leisure before the bustle begins.
After the visit to Sa Calobra we will board a modern boat that will take us to Puerto Soller. The journey by boat has a duration of approximately 40 minutes and along the way you will see spectacular views of this dramatic coastline that cannot be seen from the land.
On arrival in Puerto de Soller you will have have free time to explore, relax and have some lunch. Our guide can recommend a nice place for you to have lunch or you can stroll around looking for a place of your liking.
Once everybody has unwound and has had something to eat in Puerto Soller we will take the tram along the sea front and up through the orange and lemon orchards to the town of Soller where we will have time for a short visit around its charming historical centre before we board the famous Soller wooden train. We will follow the original journey which has barely changed in its 100 years of operation.
The train ride will take us across the impressive valley of Soller as we go through the tunnels in the mountains and the countryside until we reach the outskirts of Palma. There our coach will be awaiting us to head back to resort.
Lunch is not included, but we stop at Puerto Soller where there is time for lunch and a wide selection of cafes and restaurants.
The excursion starts between 08:30-09:00 and it comes to an end at about 17:30-18:00.
The pick-up point and time are confirmed to you after you have made your booking. You will be picked up at your hotel or a nearby meeting point. Once you make the reservation you will receive two emails:
Went on this today with the family, wasn't entirely sure what it would be like but the whole thing was excellent, a great trip into the mountains, our local guide Catalina was amazing and the driver Alphonso was brilliant, the boat ride was relaxing and beautiful and both the tram and train were excellent for the younger members of our party who had a great day. Would definitely recommend and would like to thank Cati for a great day, seeing parts of the island we would never have gone to otherwise...
We enjoyed this well organised trip on a recent Mallorcan holiday. We were promptly picked up at the appointed stop in Puerto Pollensa at the correct time and after several more pick-ups we headed up the spectacular mountains. The guide, Magdalena, and driver ,Miguel , were excellent We had an enjoyable hour or so at La Calobra, a 40 minute boat trip to Puerto Soller for Lunch. A tram ride to Soller and then a pleasant train ride to the outskirts of Palma and a bus ride home. A very well organised day
Booked before we went abroad and was not disappointed. Coach picked us up on time outside the hotel. Fantastic guide called Juan (I think) who made us laugh all day long. A brilliant day out and well organised. Extensive local knowledge and no hard sell. Was a bit tiring for the children aged 4 and 6. Lovely to see so many places but it did feel a bit rushed at times with so much to see. But don't let that put you off as you're back at your hotel in time for a pre-dinner drink with great memories.
I can highly recommend the Round the island trip. A coach arrived at the pick up point but only took another couple, leaving us to get a second coach which was a little worryng as it was a few minutes late. But it arrived and as we were the last to get on we were soon on our way. There are stunning views through the mountains and a chance to visit the Grand Canyon at Porte de sa Calobra. Then a boat trip to the lovely port of Soller for lunch. We bought lovely filled baguettes with chips from one of the seafront restaurants for a very reasonable sum. We took the tram into Soller town, it was like being in The North Pole of The Polar Express film as the tram swung between the buildings although a lot warmer. It would have been nice to have had a little longer in Soller but we were soon on the train for the last leg of our journey down to pick up the coach near Palma. You don't actually get to see Palma. Then coach back to the hotel. Both times the guide and driver have been very friendly giving a running commentary and history of the island. A special mention to Katie and Alfonso for getting us though the mountains. Not sure what frills were not included, had everything we wanted.
We tried No Frills during our last visit to Mallorca and preferred them as we were unimpressed with the tours provided by our agency (additional costs not mentioned before the trip/ wrong information regarding what's included and not). This time we tried the Island tour as we thougt it would be fun for both us and the kids too with all the different ways of transportation. The bus arrived on time and our driver and guide we're both very forthcoming. We loved the drive through the mountains and our tourguide (Magdalena) was very knowledgable about Mallorca and we know alot more about the Island now than before the tour. There were breaks long enough to wander on our own a bit but the break in Soller town was best spent in the shadows with ice cream and cold water.
We went on this day trip for a whole £40 ( booked here before the holiday) what amazing value for money. Our tour guide Cathy was bloody brilliant with her knowledge & sense of humour. We got the coach from outside our hotel ( Sol Apartment Alcudia) went up the mountains, down to the coast, got a boat ride to Port of Soller for lunch, tram ride to a village then train ride back to the coach, passing Orange/ lemon / Olive farms, through tunnels and dropped back home opposite our hotel again! Could not fault this trip, it was brilliant
Full day trip air conditioned coach up through the awesome Tramuntana mountain range, fabulous views. Stop off at 2000 ft for a quick break.. little cafe and toilets. Down to La calobra to get the boat about 40mins to port Soller. Beautiful Marina and time for lunch check out the side streets for nice little spanish bars/food more reasonable prices. Onto the tram to Soller quick stop off to take in scenery and enjoy a fabulous orange drink with ice cream fresh cream. You see lots of orange/lemon groves. Train onto Palma this train is the same type as the tram., 1912 narrow gauge wooden carriages. On this trip there is absolutely loads to see, make sure you've got plenty of space on your camera. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip and well worth the money for what you get. Our guide was Magdalana who really knew her local history and points of interest. Not forgetting the brilliant driving skills from Pedro them bends were tight !! We booked with Duncan who explained the trips well smashing chap. Thanks no frills will definitely book with you again
We were extremely impressed with the efficient service regarding all aspects of this trip, you never felt as though you were waiting for the guide - it was all done on time. Cat, our guide was lovely, funny and extremely knowledgable about her island! The views through the mountains are spectacular and port soller was a gorgeous place, I would very much recommend no frills and this trip.
The Island Tour with No Frills really is a brilliant day out. The views are spectacular from coach, boat, tram and train. I really wouldn't want to spoil it for everybody. You must do this packed program! Catalina is a brilliant guide...very organised and knowledgeable. I would be very confident to go on any other excursions with her. Francisco, the driver, well you will see how skilful he is on the journey through the Tramantuna Mountains....WOWZERS!
Everything from booking to completing our tour was hassle free and excellent. Our tour guide Cati was excellent. We did the Soller trip, Boat, Train and Tram and would highly recommend this.
