The Island Tour excursion will keep you charmed all day thanks to its different parts: road, sea and rails, with plenty of free time in between. You will be taken down the spectacular west coast of Mallorca where you will see some of the most breathtaking views in the Mediterranean. There you will discover the UNESCO protected Serra de Tramuntana mountain range with our knowledgeable guide who will be giving you interesting information on the towns and sights we come across during the day.
Once everybody has been picked up by coach the tour proceeds to the stunning Tramuntana Mountain Range where we can enjoy the views that this area offers as we drive along the breathtaking and much photographed mountain road to Sa Calobra where you will be able to take some great photographs.
Then we will arrive at Sa Calobra where you will have free time to relax and enjoy the dreamy landscape. We always make sure we arrive early so we can see Sa Calobra at its best, when it's quiet and peaceful before other tour groups get there. This means that our clients can discover the Torrent de Paréis gorge at their leisure before the bustle begins.
After the visit to Sa Calobra we will board a modern boat that will take us to Puerto Soller. The journey by boat has a duration of approximately 40 minutes and along the way you will see spectacular views of this dramatic coastline that cannot be seen from the land.
On arrival in Puerto de Soller you will have have free time to explore, relax and have some lunch. Our guide can recommend a nice place for you to have lunch or you can stroll around looking for a place of your liking.
Once everybody has unwound and has had something to eat in Puerto Soller we will take the tram along the sea front and up through the orange and lemon orchards to the town of Soller where we will have time for a short visit around its charming historical centre before we board the famous Soller wooden train. We will follow the original journey which has barely changed in its 100 years of operation.
The train ride will take us across the impressive valley of Soller as we go through the tunnels in the mountains and the countryside until we reach the outskirts of Palma. There our coach will be awaiting us to head back to resort.
Lunch is not included, but we stop at Puerto Soller where there is time for lunch and a wide selection of cafes and restaurants.
The excursion starts between 08:30-09:00 and it comes to an end at about 17:30-18:00.
The pick-up point and time are confirmed to you after you have made your booking. You will be picked up at your hotel or a nearby meeting point. Once you make the reservation you will receive two emails:
My family and myself have used this company many times for trips and days out out on this wonderful island that is majorca , including what must have been their first year of operation. the standards were very good on the very first trip we took, and they have not disapointed since. This year we took the island tour again (myself and my not so nimble mother) we were looked after very well by joan (majorcan spelling of juan ) and pedro the driver. the local history and also personal family history of joan really adds to the experience. I would like to thank to Joan and pedro for the day out . This is the first review i have written so i would like to thank Esther of no frills for a trip we took in 2013 shes lovely too.
We were really disappointed when our boat/snorkelling trip was cancelled due to some thunderstorms (safety first I guess) however after speaking to Duncan he mentioned the island tour and we eventually booked it and we were so glad we did, we loved it and we never do tours! The bus driver xisco settled my mind about driving the mountain roads straight away, I felt very safe (and I'm not friends of bends) ! the bus, the boat, the tram and the train all in day, plenty of stops (in stunning places ), it was just a great day out, probably the best day we had and if the snorkelling trip hadn't been cancelled we would have missed out on this trip that was excellent value for money, thanks to our female guide (can't remember her name but the best looking guide on the island !) thanks to Duncan, who was straight talking and xisco the driver who asked a few times if I was enjoying it as he knew I wasn't too sure about the mountain roads - I even looked down going round the bends ;) book it you won't regret it - thankyou xx
We really enjoyed our Island Tour with No Frills Excursions, we were picked up right outside our hotel in Can Picafort and on time, after picking up the other passengers we had a trip up into the mountains and on to Sa Calobra, a boat trip from there to Port de Soller where we had a lovely lunch. The tram to Soller was great and then the train to Palma (almost) where the lovely air-conditioned bus was waiting to take us back to our hotels. We thought that we would be last off - first on last off situation - so extremely delighted to find that we were first dropped off! We would like to thank Pedro the driver for his excellent driving on sometimes tricky roads and Monica, who only works on Sundays, for her informative and amusing guidance through the whole day. We would highly recommend No Frills Excursions to everyone. Thank you for a lovely, memorable day.
Excellent day out in the safe hands of driver Pedro and tour guide Juan, whose sense of humour and happy go lucky personality kept us all laughing...enjoyed the whole day! Coach was on time..early in fact..comfortable and clean. Would recommend this company to anyone visiting the island... Again a big thankyou to Pedro and Juan!
Last Wednesday 17 th September we went on the Nofrills Mallorca Island Tour not really knowing what to expect. Many times in Mallorca but never been on a trip. Well it was certainly the highlight of our holiday from the moment we boarded the coach at 9am. Our guide was Juan and our driver was Pedro. Juan was brilliant very knowledgeable and funny with it. Our trip lasted eight hours and we experienced coach, boat, tram and rail travel. We weave dour way through the mountains down to a small bay where we boarded the boat for our trip around to the Port of Sollier. Magnificent scenery all the way. Lunch in Sollier then a tram to the town of Sollier time for a walk round and drink before boarding the train to Palma and finally back on the coach to our hotel. Wonderful day thank you Juan and Pedro. Nofrills this was wonderful frills!
Had a great day on the Island Tour which started with a hair raising tour up and over the mountains. Then the boat trip and the journey back via the tram and train. Didn't have time to get bored as the timetable wouldn't allow it. A special mention must go to Ester who was very knowledgeable about her patch. Not forgetting Sebastion the driver whose skills of mountain driving and knowledge of the hairpin bends was very comforting. Recommend this trip to everyone who finds themselves in Alcudia.
We did the island tour and were very lucky to have a fantastic guide in Juan. He made the whole experience even better with his little tales and humour. The driver Xisco was superb the way he took the coach around the twisty roads in rural Majorca. If we were staying longer than 1 week I wouldn't hesitate in booking another of their tours. I would recommend anyone to book their tours with No Frills and I hope they continue and flourish, why book through your tour company when you can use No Frills. I think the idea of posting photos from the tours on Facebook is great
We booked the Island tour online before going on holiday. It is cheaper than other tour companies. We arrived in Alcudia on Tuesday afternoon and the trip was booked for the Wednesday morning. Unfortunately I forgot to put the clock forward one hour on my alarm clock and we got up in good time (so we thought) but obviously had missed the bus. We went to the main office, embarassingly explained what happened and the staff offered to put us on the trip on the Sunday. We are so grateful as this was entirely our fault and the trip was just fabulous. Really well organised, easy to find our tour guide even though there are 4 modes of transport in the one day. It showed us a part of Mallorca that we would love to visit in the future - Sa Calobra - very quiet, chilled area with excellent snorkelling and peace and quiet. The town of Soller is so quaintly beautiful and we appreciated our one hour stop there. The trip on the boat, the old tram and the old wooden train was incredible - we loved every minute. The views were breathtaking and our driver handled the tight corners around the mountains very well. I felt safe and in competent hands.
Just back from Alcudia. I had already researched No Frills trips on the website, had previously done the Formentor Experience Bus with them in May (also excellent) and was able to book through hotel reception. The Island Tour was fantastic - our guide Monica was so well organised and fed us with interesting bits of information all day. Our driver, Augustine, was excellent. When we passed places of interest, if he was unable to stop for a photo shoot, he drove past VERY slowly so that we could take our photos. For example, we passed the Monastery at Lluc on the road high above but he drove so slowly that I have the most beautiful photo looking down on to the Monastery. We visited Sa Calobre viewpoint then on to the entrance to the Canyon walk which was lovely then to the port and a boat trip to Port de Soller. here we could lunch as a party or have free time in the port, followed by the tram ride to Soller where we had time for ice-creams/sightseeing. this was followed by a train ride through mountain tunnels and down to Palma, where the coach was waiting to take the weary travellers back to their hotels! All fees were included in the price. It truly was a wonderful day. On our visit to the Caves of Drach, our guide was Juan. He was really great, keeping us informed and telling amusing anecdotes all day. Our driver was Xisco, who deserves mention for his skilful driving on the steep, narrow and extremely bendy roads. The trip started with a visit to the pearl factory at Manacor - not my cup of tea, but interesting none the less, then on to the view point for a photo shoot. On to the Caves of Drach, entry fee for which was included in the price of the trip - a truly magical experience culminating with the concert and boat ride on the underground lake. From here it was a short hop to Portocristo for an organised lunch or sightseeing along and/or above the beach. Our journey back started with a drive to the viewpoint at Cala Muria, where Xisco offered to stop for a few minutes for photos. From here back to Manacor for liqueur tasting, a very pleasant end to another lovely day out with No Frills. I'd happily recommend No Frills Excursions to anyone
Just back today from alcudia we went on a fantastic trip with no frills excursions it was superb our guide was Esther what a woman she stopped a pick pocket in his tracks with her no frills umbrella and retrieved a man's wallet at the tram station he didn't even know it had happened to him 10/10+ for the trip and the security well done Esther also the other no frills coach that was travelling in front of our bus stopped and picked up a cyclist that had an accident putting his bike on the bus and taking the cyclist for medical attention overall we had an awesome and eventful trip we would recommend this company with no hesitation.
