The Island Tour excursion will keep you charmed all day thanks to its different parts: road, sea and rails, with plenty of free time in between. You will be taken down the spectacular west coast of Mallorca where you will see some of the most breathtaking views in the Mediterranean. There you will discover the UNESCO protected Serra de Tramuntana mountain range with our knowledgeable guide who will be giving you interesting information on the towns and sights we come across during the day.
Once everybody has been picked up by coach the tour proceeds to the stunning Tramuntana Mountain Range where we can enjoy the views that this area offers as we drive along the breathtaking and much photographed mountain road to Sa Calobra where you will be able to take some great photographs.
Then we will arrive at Sa Calobra where you will have free time to relax and enjoy the dreamy landscape. We always make sure we arrive early so we can see Sa Calobra at its best, when it's quiet and peaceful before other tour groups get there. This means that our clients can discover the Torrent de Paréis gorge at their leisure before the bustle begins.
After the visit to Sa Calobra we will board a modern boat that will take us to Puerto Soller. The journey by boat has a duration of approximately 40 minutes and along the way you will see spectacular views of this dramatic coastline that cannot be seen from the land.
On arrival in Puerto de Soller you will have have free time to explore, relax and have some lunch. Our guide can recommend a nice place for you to have lunch or you can stroll around looking for a place of your liking.
Once everybody has unwound and has had something to eat in Puerto Soller we will take the tram along the sea front and up through the orange and lemon orchards to the town of Soller where we will have time for a short visit around its charming historical centre before we board the famous Soller wooden train. We will follow the original journey which has barely changed in its 100 years of operation.
The train ride will take us across the impressive valley of Soller as we go through the tunnels in the mountains and the countryside until we reach the outskirts of Palma. There our coach will be awaiting us to head back to resort.
Lunch is not included, but we stop at Puerto Soller where there is time for lunch and a wide selection of cafes and restaurants.
The excursion starts between 08:30-09:00 and it comes to an end at about 17:30-18:00.
The pick-up point and time are confirmed to you after you have made your booking. You will be picked up at your hotel or a nearby meeting point. Once you make the reservation you will receive two emails:
Having completed your Island Tour excursion on the Sunday just gone (21st August) we were privileged enough to have Juan guide us through the wonderful landscapes that can be seen on the tour. He conducted the tour excellently striking a good balance between entertaining and funny with being informative and engaging. It meant that a long day of travel that could've dragged became a day you didn't want to end. Juan is the best tour guide in the world. Another area of praise for him would be the calm and professional manner he conducted the tour in when, due to bad weather, the plan for our day had to be changed quite considerably. Even though this was happening, it didn't feel chaotic or out of control as it could've been. The island tour itself was a fantastic journey with plenty to see and do. Furthermore, it was fantastic to split the day up amongst different forms of transport creating a trying unique experience that anywhere else will struggle to replicate or improve. Special praise should also go to Francisco, our wonderful driver, who navigated some of the tightest roads and corners I've ever seen with ease. Simply a fantastic day out.
Took a nice island tour woth our guide Catalina. We received a lot of valuable information about the island and its history. The bus drive up the hill was relaxing and the view spectacular. We saw some nice towns and always had enough free time to grab lunch/go into shops etc. The program is quite extensive but there is always opportunity to relax.
We had a lovely day on this island tour, we went up the mountain on a coach, but hair raising but amazing, coach driver juan excellent driving skills, and our tour guide Albert also amazing and full of interesting info about Majorca. We then went on a nice boat trip to catch our tram, and then on to the 1912 train which was amazing and beautifully made, would highly recommend this trip well worth the money
We are a family of five with children between 10 and 16. The Tour guide, Juan, was fantastic and brought the experience to life with references to his own family's island history. He even gave everyone an almond from his garden as a memento of the wonderful day. The tour was well thought out, included beautiful scenery and interesting visits. The driver was Pedro and demonstrated his skill at manoeuvring the hair-pin bends with confidence.
We took the Island Tour with Juan (& Jaime, the best bus driver in the world!) as a family of four and we can honestly say it was the highlight of our holiday. Juan is so friendly, knowledgable and fun! I couldn't rate this trip highly enough. Worth every penny. Thank you No Frills Excursions for a great day out!
Had planned this trip for months and booked online once we arrived. Picked up on time and Juan straight away made us welcome and provided humour and information all day!! We all enjoyed the bus ride to Sa Colabra and hearing about the annual over night walk to Lluc. The boat trip was beautiful and we enjoyed our time in Port de Soller. The tram ride was a little overly full but still enjoyable and the ice cream in Soller perked us up. The train journey was the best part and the bus journey home was cool and entertaining. 5 star day out and 5 star guide and driver.
Today we went on the island tour (stating out by being picked up at our hotel, on time) which included a very scenic journey over the mountains with Jaime, our driver expertly navigating a series of narrow hairpin bends that are every bit the match of anything in the Alps. Juan, our guide, provided a steady stream of informative, interesting and numerous commentary in excellent English. On reaching Sa Colabra we boarded a boat after which we stopped for lunch before taking the tram to Seller. If you get the chance, try an "orange Seller" - a highly refreshing drink and an ice cream at the same time! It was then on the train to pick up the coach back to the hotel. A great value day ably hosted by Juan and expertly engineered by Jaime. We'll soon our next trip.
We travelled with Thomas Cook only to find that our "Signature" hotel did not have a rep, which was very disappointing as it's always nice to hear about the place you are staying and what excursions are available. Our hotel recommended No Frills Excursions for an island tour and it couldn't have been better. Our guide was Juan and driver Pedro, both of whom were excellent and very funny. The tour started with a bus ride through the mountains, then a Plan B boat trip, due to windy conditions, then a tram ride and finally a train to Palma before the bus journey back to our hotel. It was a full day 09:00 - 17:00 and well worth the money, would highly recommend, and cheaper than the uk tour operators.
Had the most amazing day all thanks to No frills excursions. The island tour was fantastic. Pep the driver who negotiated those windy roads up into the mountains is a really skilled driver ... Juan really does look after you and is on hand to answer any questions. The boat , tram and train takes you to parts of the island you will never see and the history in the tram and train is outstanding . You have some time to stop in sollier which is a lovely place to sit and eat and watch the world go by .. Thanks again to juan and pep for making day this day the best and juan your wealth of knowledge is endless you must write a book. Thanks for the lucky almond I will take it to work and leave it on my desk to remind me of such an amazing day ... No frills - juan and pep are a real asset to your company thanks again
We had viewed the trip online before the holiday but were dubious as this company was not as well known as some of the big companies. Wanted to do the island trip ; Thompsons offered similar trip to no frills , minus the boat trip for a lot more money. Went on the trip on the 3rd August. Best value for money we spent on the whole holiday!!! On time, well run and Albert our tour guide was friendly , witty and passionate about what he does. Made our day really with his humour . The trip included everything we wanted and we felt as though we were valued customers throughout. Went on a later trip with Thompsons , although good hospitality not a touch on no frills. We would highly recommend the excursions from no frills!!! We will be using this company next time we visit!!
