Discover Mallorca by coach, boat, train and tram on the Island Tour. This trip has it all: Beautiful mountain and coastal scenery, a ride on a vintage train, orange and lemon groves…

Island Tour overview:

What to expect on this trip:

The Island Tour excursion will keep you charmed all day thanks to its different parts: road, sea and rails, with plenty of free time in between. You will be taken down the spectacular west coast of Mallorca where you will see some of the most breathtaking views in the Mediterranean. There you will discover the UNESCO protected Serra de Tramuntana mountain range with our knowledgeable guide who will be giving you interesting information on the towns and sights we come across during the day.

Once everybody has been picked up by coach the tour proceeds to the stunning Tramuntana Mountain Range where we can enjoy the views that this area offers as we drive along the breathtaking and much photographed mountain road to Sa Calobra where you will be able to take some great photographs.

Then we will arrive at Sa Calobra where you will have free time to relax and enjoy the dreamy landscape. We always make sure we arrive early so we can see Sa Calobra at its best, when it's quiet and peaceful before other tour groups get there. This means that our clients can discover the Torrent de Paréis gorge at their leisure before the bustle begins.

After the visit to Sa Calobra we will board a modern boat that will take us to Puerto Soller. The journey by boat has a duration of approximately 40 minutes and along the way you will see spectacular views of this dramatic coastline that cannot be seen from the land.

On arrival in Puerto de Soller you will have have free time to explore, relax and have some lunch. Our guide can recommend a nice place for you to have lunch or you can stroll around looking for a place of your liking.

Once everybody has unwound and has had something to eat in Puerto Soller we will take the tram along the sea front and up through the orange and lemon orchards to the town of Soller where we will have time for a short visit around its charming historical centre before we board the famous Soller wooden train. We will follow the original journey which has barely changed in its 100 years of operation.

The train ride will take us across the impressive valley of Soller as we go through the tunnels in the mountains and the countryside until we reach the outskirts of Palma. There our coach will be awaiting us to head back to resort.

Reasons why you should book online:

  • Much cheaper prices compared to tour operators.
  • It is a hassle free way to ensure you make the most of your day. We have the day planned to the finest detail so that all that is left for you to do is enjoy the excursion.
  • Your places will be guaranteed on all the modes of transports included in the excursion: bus, boat, tram and train so you will avoid nasty surpirses like arriving and not being able to board, which would not be a pleasant experience.
  • Easy to book: confirm your details, secure online payment, receive your e-voucher and then we confirm your pick up details by e-mail.
  • Peace of mind: have your places guaranteed before you arrive in resort. You can either print the voucher or just show it on your smartphone, tablet or device.

Additional information about the Island Tour:

What is included in the price?

Approximate timetable of the trip:

The excursion starts between 08:30-09:00 and it comes to an end at about  17:30-18:00.

Pick up point:

The pick-up point and time are confirmed to you after you have made your booking. You will be picked up at your hotel or a nearby meeting point. Once you make the reservation you will receive two emails:

  • A first one with all the details related to the booking which you can either print or show on the day of the excursion on your mobile phone or tablet.
  • A second email indicating the exact pick up point and the time you must be there.

Some practical information for the day of the excursion:

  • Don’t forget your photo camera, you will most definitely need it!
  • There will be time for lunch in Puerto Soller.
  • The boat trip is subject to weather and sea conditions. In the unlikely event that the boat trip is cancelled due to bad weather an alternative route will be taken by coach, missing out Sa Calobra and (when possible) taking a shorter boat trip in the bay of Puerto Soller. This is beyond our control and no refunds or partial refunds will be given if this occurs.

We've never booked a trip with anyone other than our tour operator so this was a first. We are staying in Puerto Pollensa (Bahia Pollensa) with Thomas Cook. At the welcome meeting the rep talked about the Island Tour and it seemed just up our street, but coming in at just shy of €200 for two adults and a child was expensive. Looking at Trip Advisor No Frills also offered the same trip but €70 cheaper. We bit the bullet and booked it less than 48 hours before. The online experience was excellent and email confirmation received straight away. No need to print out as it is an e ticket, just need the email confirmation on your phone. Pickup was very local and on time, early to be honest. Trip was everything described in the brochure, what really made it though was the guide, Juan. He was quite simply brilliant; entertaining, funny, knowledgeable, approachable, always around and really ensured an older couple who were not quite as quick as the rest of us on the bus were never left behind and when appropriate always made sure they were first to get on the transport. Could not recommend enough.

We had Pedro the driver for the coach and Juan our guide throughout the whole trip. This was an excellent day touring the island going from Port de Pollenca to sa Calobra to Port de Soller the Soller then back home. All modes of transport were exciting and reliable. Everything was organised but with time to roam free, there was no rushing about even though you had to keep to times. My husband and my parents all took the trip and all agreed it's one of the best we have done. Going through the mountains looking for goats, donkey's and Juan's home town was fun. The roads were very high and bendy but Pedro was an excellent driver. Juan was attentive and very funny, lovely charming man. The final destination of the coach was stunning and fully recommend the 15 minute walk to find the secluded pebble beach before getting on the calm boat. The tram was rickety but an experience, the train was very different to a train I have been on before amazing views. Excellent the whole day was incredible. It was easy to book with no frills at there shop in Port de Pollenca and cheaper than our flight company and it did more!! Enjoy.

What an awesome island tour thanks to Pep our driver and Albert our superb tour guide. Good value for money and just the right amount of time at each stop. We got to spend some time touring the mountain roads by bus, from as colabra to port de soller by boat, then tram to seller and train to bunyola! The whole trip was very well organised, nice simple instructions and a good plan for the day, Albert was well humoured and informative providing an all round awesome day. Thanks once again for a fantastic trip. Don't let the words no frills throw you, this is a top quality trip!

Had the most amazing day all thanks to No frills excursions. The island tour was fantastic. Pep the driver who negotiated those windy roads up into the mountains is a really skilled driver ... Juan really does look after you and is on hand to answer any questions. The boat , tram and train takes you to parts of the island you will never see and the history in the tram and train is outstanding . You have some time to stop in sollier which is a lovely place to sit and eat and watch the world go by .. Thanks again to juan and pep for making day this day the best and juan your wealth of knowledge is endless you must write a book. Thanks for the lucky almond I will take it to work and leave it on my desk to remind me of such an amazing day ... No frills - juan and pep are a real asset to your company thanks again

We booked The Majorca Island Tour on the internet before we travelled, and it exceeded expectations. The excursion was exactly as described, with effortless pick-up and clear guidance between all stages of the journey. There is no way that I would have let my husband drive up those mountain roads, without having some kind of nervous breakdown, and so it was fabulous to just sit back and let someone (clearly very experienced) do all the work for us. There were so many wonderful photo opportunities, and we came back with our camera batteries nearly flat! What I really enjoyed about the trip, was that it really was "No frills" - no hard-sell, nor pushy guides trying to goad us into buying merchandise from their friend's cafes/shops! We were left to our own devices at every stop-off, though never once felt out on a limb. The guide, a Spanish lady, was humorous and spoke great English, and nothing seemed too much trouble for her. One tip - there is more to Sa Calobra than initially meets the eye. When you get off the coach, don't head straight for the beach; it's a bit boring. Instead, walk on the right hand side upper path, and through the tunnels in the cliff. At the end is a fabulous, isolated stony beach, that looks like a setting for Jurassic Park. It seemed to be populated by a locals; they always know the best places to go! All in all, It was truly a fabulous day, and I wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone. Have fun!

Went on The western encounter tour of Majorca a week ago, best organised tour we had been on. Picked up right on time, met by our guide for the day(Esther),who was informative, humourous and very friendly. She introduced us to our driver(Fernando),who was a treasure. The coach took us over the mountains, beautiful scenery(hairy corners),this took us to Sa Collabra, where we had 30 minutes before boarding the boat to Port Soller, about 45 minutes on the boat. 1pm to 2.30 we had free time,to eat lunch, get a drink, take photos etc. We then caught the tram to Soller old town, very picturesque. Only had a short time to look around here before catching the wooden train to Palma, this was a lovely ride, went through the mountains(instead of over),13 tunnels altogether, one was 3 kilometres long, quite chilly. Our driver Fernando was waiting for us when we stepped off the train, and then we started the hour and 15 minutes journey back to the hotel. All in all this trip was worth every penny(was cheaper than Thomsons/first choice). Would we use no frills again,Most definitely.

We took the Island tour from Pollenca. The trip involves a bus pick up in Port Pollenca then up to Sa Calobra. From there we took the boat around to Port Sollier, then the ancient tram to Sollier where we took the old train down to the outskirts of Palma. Everything about the day was excellent. Our guide, Juan was the best guide I've met, full of mischievous humour and local knowledge. He really made the trip. The road to Sa Calobra is stunning, it was nice to let Pedro the bus driver take the responsibility of negotiating the hairpin bends, rather him than me! I cycled this road recently so it was nice to see it from the comfort of the coach. The boat around to Port Sollier was excellent, some of the coastline scenery really is fantastic. After lunch in the Port of Sollier we took the tram to Sollier then the train down to Palma. Everything was so well organised, with each tour operator having a set slot for travel, which made the day so much more enjoyable. A long day but overall well worth the money. Highly recommended.

I booked the Island Tour for the 17th July for myself and 4 year old grandson. I've done the trip with Thomson, but they don't do the boat and tram, they do Valdemossa which bored me to tears so no point with a 4 year old! I also saved 40 euros which was a bonus. We were picked up at Burger King exactly on time and after a couple of pick ups, we were on our way. Albert is brilliant, he knows all about the island, is very funny and his English is excellent. The first stop at the little cafe in the mountains had amazing views and the driver (Pedro I think) was brilliant negotiating those bends. Then it was on to the boat trip with the fantastic beach, had time for a walk round before getting on the boat, the trip was lovely and smooth and my grandson had his photo taken with Henry which he lived as his middle name is Henry. When we arrived in the Port of Soller, we had plenty of time for lunch, a walk round, ice cream and a dip in the sea before getting on the tram which was very enjoyable. Once we reached Soller we again had time for a walk round before getting on the train for the trip back to Palma. The views are amazing and as the windows are open, the smell from the plants and trees was lovely, it's a lovely journey. Once back in Palma, our coach was waiting for us to take us back to our hotels. My grandson fell asleep and I had to carry him from the bus, he was crying and miserable as he hates to be woken up and I forgot to leave a tip for Albert and the driver, I'm really sorry as we really had a great day and they looked after us so well. This was an all day trip and fantastic value for money and I will certainly use No Frills on my next trip to the beautiful island of Majorca

Booked the Island Tour and this was 20eur cheaper than booking it with our tour operator! We were picked up by the hotel next to ours, so very convenient! Excellent staff, funny, helpfull, etc... The tour itself is a great way to spend the day and explore the island by bus, boat, tram and train!
