With this excursion we will give you the opportunity to discover the city of Palma de Mallorca, capital of the Balearic Islands in the most hassle-free and comfortable way. You will be able to make the most out of your day thanks to all the useful information our guide will share with you during the journey. Enjoy a full day of shopping and sightseeing with No Frills Excursions as you get an insight into Mallorca's rich and interesting culture.
On the way to Palma, our guide will give you valuable and interesting information as well as a map of Palma City so that you can plan the day ahead in the most comfortable way, on our air conditioned coach. Our guide will give you the best suggestions for sightseeing and shopping in Palma so that all that's left for you to do is to decide how you want to spend your day and enjoy.
Once we get to Palma, we will stay on the coach and make an interesting sightseeing tour (approx 60 minutes). We will pass the habour, the cruise port and Palma Cathedral, with a 20 minutes stop at the San Carlos Castle from where we can enjoy spectacular views of Palma’s port. (Please note that on Mondays, as the castle is closed, there is no stop there.)
Once we have seen Palma's most important sights, we will drop you off opposite the cathedral, which is a five minute walk from the shopping area and Palma's historical area. From this moment you have more than four and a half hours of free time to explore the old town, visit the cathedral or go shopping. Shopping in Palma is a great experience as you have a wide selection of shops that range from luxurious boutiques to large department stores and well-known retailers.
As you also have time for lunch in the city we suggest that you don't miss out on the opportunity to savour some typical Spanish and Mallorcan food. Therefore we recommend visiting La Lonja, the tapas area in Palma de Mallorca and the old fisherman’s port.
This excursion was voted as the best value for money day out last year by our customers who said to have got their money's worth with an unbeatable service.
We also offer a more complete option to visit Palma, which includes all the above plus a 45 minutes guided walk with a licensed guide, entrance to the cathedral and a 45 minutes guided visit with live comentary in the cathedral:
You can also add to this same Palmabus excursion, a 60 minutes boat trip in the Port of Palma:
There is no better value for money option to go to Palma than this excursion, just see all the things included in the price! Plus you have a guaranteed seat on the bus, unlike the public bus where you may have to queue and could be left behind in Palma making a costly taxi the only option to return to resort.
The excursion starts at about 09:30 and gets back to resort at around 18:00
The pick-up point and time are confirmed to you after you have made your booking. You will be picked up at your hotel or a nearby meeting point. Once you make the reservation you will receive two emails:
We took the PalmaBus Excursion as a couple last week (June 2016) and felt it was good value for the money. We had Lorenzo as a tour guide. He is local but truly fluent in English and German giving you a choice of languages to communicate in. We booked late online and found we weren't expected on the bus when it arrived but this was quickly and efficiently ironed out. If you buy online you can just show the ticket on your mobile phone and you can buy in Sterling or Euros. Lorenzo took his job seriously and was knowledgeable and effiecient. We especially loved the comfortable, air conditioned bus which picked us up from opposite our hotel on time. We liked the way you could choose where to get off the bus in Palma and we were shown the pick-up point before we got off. And we liked the way that we could get Cathedral tickets for €6 from Lorenzo rather than for €7 on the door. And Lorenzo didn't hard sell his two optional extras: Cathedal tickets and boat trip tickets. Appreciated him looking clean and tidy too and his sweet sense of humour. Everything ran to time: smashing. If you like Cathedrals then Palma Cathedral won't disappoint you. Lovely clean city. You'll also be given a detailed map. We gave the El Corte Ingles shopping centre a miss, it's really just like Debenhams, but enjoyed wandering through the city in our 4.5 hours' free time. We ate in a local cafe, with some Mallorcans, very cheaply. We also didn't bother with the drink and Tapas ticket as we preferred more "authentic" establishments. Fantastic photographic opoortunities. We had a few minutes to take photos at a coastal viewpoint; nice enough but not spectucular if you are a seasoned photographer. For €17.50/£13.80 per adult you can't go wrong. Take water with you and wear sensible shoes. Palma was roasting hot so go prepared. There's no toilet on the coach, which was a bit of a pain as the one at our drop off point was out of order.
We did the palma bus trip that they arrange, there are a couple of versions but we did the drop of In old town Palma and then met up with the bus later. Lorenzo was a fabulous guide, well informed and funny, making sure everyone new the meeting place and the usual survival information you get for any city. The coach was clean and comfy, and I would recommend these tour people to every one.
Good day out for a very reasonable price. The downside is the time taken to get there because of the number of pickup points. But Pete, the guide on the bus was excellent, informative and friendly. The bus is comfortable and drop off and pick up points in Palma convenient and well placed. Short tour along the coast past the marinas also good.
We booked this company at the desk in Can Picafort, after reading such good reviews on Tripadvisor. Unfortunately, I am somewhat disappointed with the service. The bus pick up was 25 minutes late, we were getting to the point where we thought we had been left behind!. There were two other ladies waiting at the same point as us, who pick up time was five minutes after us! not sure what that was. After several pick ups we set off for Palma, Mathilda the tour guide started off explaining everything in both English and German, to accomodate the passengers, but we soon realised that a lot more information was being given out to the majority german passengers than the English. We realisedt this when we were told details of the pick up point for our return journey. I worked out from her commentary that the german passengers were given the street name and the location on that street, (outside the bank) something we were not given. All English passengers were confused about where exaclty we were to be picked up ,and got barked at by Mathilda when we tried to confirm the details. On arrival at Palma, we were somewhat non plussed to have the Hard Rock Cafe pointed out to us.... and the best disco in Palma? it wat 10.30am in the morning? The commentary was not the best we have had on tours. Having said that our afternoon in Palma was very enjoyable and the pick up was on time. Unfortunately, a couple of the bus did not make it back, and Mathilda waited behind in Palma for them, so the rest of us could leave. I think we just got a bad tour guide, judging by the comments on here about other guides.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day out from Puerto Pollenca to Palma, in the company of our tour guide Peter. He was a wealth of local knowledge and kept us all informed and amused along the route. The coach was lovely and clean and arrived at both pick up points on time and was driven very professionally. This is the second no frills excursion we have done and both have been super value for money and delivered great family days out. Highly recommended Visited May 2015
By far one of the best organised trips have been on both driver and guide were professional and polite while carrying out the tour. Nothing was forced on you or did you feel pressurised into buying any extras. I would recommend this company to anyone staying in the north of Majorca as certainly they offer value for money and a professional service. Visited June 2015
We made the trip from Puerto de Pollensa to Palma and found it an enjoyable and rewarding day out. We learnt a lot about the island from the excellent guide, Michael, and were expertly driven by Cisco. We avoided all the hassle of driving around and finding parking space in an unfamiliar city and were given lots of time to explore the shops, cathedral, etc. Terrific value, but be warned, no loo on the coach! If this is your first visit to mallorca (as it was for us), this introduction to the capital well worthwhile. As usual with no frills, our guide was helpful and the visit to castell de San Carlos was worthwhile for the views alone. The complimentary wine and tapa were a welcome finish to a busy day. Great value for money!
Oh dear! in the past we have had fantastic tours with No Frills but the Palma Bus was not a good experience. May be it was because the guide had only been on the job for a week (staff training?) or because the temperature was in the low 40's but we all were getting mixed messages on a further excursion around Palma (was it on a bus? was it for 1 or 2 hours, I think he said 5 eur) Very little information when we stopped in the centre of Palma outside the big department store el cortre englise apart from "Go and see that guide over there with the orange top". Saw the other No Frills guide further along the busy pavement and having caught up with him inside the store he told us where to find our free tapas and drink and were the information desk was to get our 10% discount card (no cash refund, discount only to be spent on further purchases (sneaky). Also found out that he was the guide for the 1 hour walking tour for 5 eur. With the heat at 43oC we spent most of the time in the store as it was at least 15 mins walk to the front. No doubt a good marketing deal between No Frills and el corte englese. Would have been better if the tour guide had been trained and had some knowledge. Wish we had gone on the rustic tour again, now that is good value! Visited July 2015
Booked online for Mon 13th July from Cala San Vicente only to receive an email advising that it only operates from that area of the island on a Friday and would I like to change the day or make my own way to Puerto Pollensa to get the bus. I let them know that neither was an option and within 30 mins had another email advising they'd made special arrangements for the bus to come out to pick us up Promptly at 9.20 this morning the bus arrived driven by Tisco. He was a joy from the minute we got on until he dropped us off at 6pm this evening He was abley accompanied by Pete, our guide who had a never ending stream of local info interspersed with humour I would have no hesitation in using them again and would definitely recommend them to anyone considering one of their many excursions Visited July 2015
