With this excursion we will give you the opportunity to discover the city of Palma de Mallorca, capital of the Balearic Islands in the most hassle-free and comfortable way. You will be able to make the most out of your day thanks to all the useful information our guide will share with you during the journey. Enjoy a full day of shopping and sightseeing with No Frills Excursions as you get an insight into Mallorca's rich and interesting culture.
On the way to Palma, our guide will give you valuable and interesting information as well as a map of Palma City so that you can plan the day ahead in the most comfortable way, on our air conditioned coach. Our guide will give you the best suggestions for sightseeing and shopping in Palma so that all that's left for you to do is to decide how you want to spend your day and enjoy.
Once we get to Palma, we will stay on the coach and make an interesting sightseeing tour (approx 60 minutes). We will pass the habour, the cruise port and Palma Cathedral, with a 20 minutes stop at the San Carlos Castle from where we can enjoy spectacular views of Palma’s port. (Please note that on Mondays, as the castle is closed, there is no stop there.)
Once we have seen Palma's most important sights, we will drop you off opposite the cathedral, which is a five minute walk from the shopping area and Palma's historical area. From this moment you have more than four and a half hours of free time to explore the old town, visit the cathedral or go shopping. Shopping in Palma is a great experience as you have a wide selection of shops that range from luxurious boutiques to large department stores and well-known retailers.
As you also have time for lunch in the city we suggest that you don't miss out on the opportunity to savour some typical Spanish and Mallorcan food. Therefore we recommend visiting La Lonja, the tapas area in Palma de Mallorca and the old fisherman’s port.
This excursion was voted as the best value for money day out last year by our customers who said to have got their money's worth with an unbeatable service.
We also offer a more complete option to visit Palma, which includes all the above plus a 45 minutes guided walk with a licensed guide, entrance to the cathedral and a 45 minutes guided visit with live comentary in the cathedral:
You can also add to this same Palmabus excursion, a 60 minutes boat trip in the Port of Palma:
There is no better value for money option to go to Palma than this excursion, just see all the things included in the price! Plus you have a guaranteed seat on the bus, unlike the public bus where you may have to queue and could be left behind in Palma making a costly taxi the only option to return to resort.
The excursion starts at about 09:30 and gets back to resort at around 18:00
The pick-up point and time are confirmed to you after you have made your booking. You will be picked up at your hotel or a nearby meeting point. Once you make the reservation you will receive two emails:
Had a great day 2 days ago. Went on the Palma trip with guide Pete. Very good guide. My wife was in a wheelchair and Pete and driver gave brilliant assistance, sometimes beyond what is expected. All in all tremendous value. Andy andLinda
Did 2 tours with No Frills, one to Palma and one to the aquarium. The first trip to Palma was superb. Pete, our guide, entertained us the entire trip down, and he was a breath of fresh air with witty comments of his own personal experience of Majorca. The bus left us adjacent to El Corte de Ingles, and it looks like an awfully long walk to the Cathedral and the touristy sites but it actually isn't much of a long walk at all, and if you choose your route right, you'll discover a fabulous old city of Palma. Pete pointed out all the relevant places to visit, and warned us about not missing our bus, and sure enough, one person missed her earlier bus, and had to hop on ours to go back to Alcudia. Nobody made much of a fuss, but we did have to take a detoured route to Ca'n Picafort as a result. I wish people would listen...Samuel, the bus driver, was an absolute gentleman, helping us with our buggy in the hold, and hopping out to help us when we got back. The second trip was a packed bus, and we were just allocated 3 seats, with a child and a toddler in tow. I would have preferred 4 seats for a family of 4, but I can see how they would need to pack the bus full of kiddies to the aquarium. Jeanine, our guide, had a slightly more serious approach to telling us about our trip, but she was speaking in both English and German, and did really well. I speak German too, and she was quite faultless. In fairness, the bus trip was really a taxi to the aquarium, as they don't guide you through the aquarium, which I prefer, as there's loads to do there on your own. We were told to keep our original seats for the trip back, and again, I wish people would listen as another family had taken our original seats and we ended up inconveniencing other people by having to move all over the place, finally telling the original family to move out of our seats. I would strongly recommend this company. I have read the bad reviews of them, and disagree wholeheartedly with the comments. This company, I would use time and time again, if we visit again in future
Did 4 trips with No Frills Excursions in Alcudia, the guide we ended up having 3 times was called Pete, he was full of knowledge of each place we visited, I'd say he went well out of his way on the Palma trip, it was also great that he gave us information when travelling both ways, this man should be commended for this
We recently had a trip to Palma with No Frills Excursions. We were picked up at our hotel, on time, in a minibus, then transferred to a coach, Our guide Pete was very knowledgeable and helpful. After dropping us off in Palma he escorted us to the Cathedral showing us points of interest on the way. We then had free time to explore the city before boarding the coach back to the Alcudia office where Seamus drove us back to our hotel in the minibus. To explain why the coach did not pick us up from our hotel, the Hotel More has a narrow approach road with lots of parked cars. Pete, Seamus and Rafa the coach driver were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
I would like to recommend this professional company who provide excellent tours in Mallorca yet with great cost savings. I booked two trips from the branch in can picafort, prompt pickup in comfortable coaches. Palma trip was truly enjoyed with help from Peter who guided us through the beautiful cathedral, ample time for shopping, and running commentary throughout the trip. Thanks Peter. A further trip to Drach caves was lovely, so fascinating with beautiful music in the underwater caves also included a visit to a pearl factory + time for sampling liqueurs yummiest !!! Great amusing commentary from Juan + smooth driving from Raphe (our driver).
Duncan at the Astoria playa office was brill, very helpful and the staff on the tours are great, 4 tours booked, caves of drac,Island tour,Palma bus and inca market, great value for money, katalina, juan and especially PETE, who went above and beyond to show us the typical Spanish streets on way to cathedral. Xxx highly recommended
We went on their PalmaBus excursion which takes you to Palma. It was €18 which included transportation, a 1 hour tour around Palma, a free drink and tapa, a map, 10% discount at the shopping centre and 4 1/2 hours free time in Palma. Considering Thomas Cook want about €40 for the same thing this is excellent value for money! They were extremely friendly and the lady we had went out of her way to draw on our maps the separate areas of the city (old town/shopping district) and also highlighted areas of interest. Pick up was on time, both going and coming back. Definitely worth booking with No Frills as they are cheaper and offer better customer service.
I booked these trips via my hotel reception which was nice and easy. All pick ups were at the time stated. THe tour guides were excellent, they had lots of local knowledge and two out of the three were multi-lingual so catered for most travellers. There was plenty of photo opportunities. The guides were all helpful, gave telephone numbers in case you needed them whilst on the trips. All trips were good value for money and the whole family enjoyed them all. If were to return again to Majorca, which no doubt we will as we had a fantastic holiday, we would definitely try some of the trips we didn't experience this time. The trips were fantastic and added a cultural dimension to the holiday which was great as none of my family can bear to sunbathe 24/7.
This was our second time with them being based in Puerto Pollenca and we decided to go to Palma on one of the hottest days of the holiday. Fortunately the No Frills bus had brilliant air-conditioning. As last year, the guides were knowledgeable, funny, and very well organized. We had Pete from Yorkshire - a character who likes his roll ups but he looked after us well as we toured past the extensive marina observing thousands of boats including private liners and a cruise ship. We visited the indoor market and took in the smells of cheese and bread and local fruit (never seen such huge olives and plums). Saw pigs trotters and other entrails for sale. We saw some beautiful architecture in the old town including the Town Hall (with its giant figurines I'd never heard about), visited a couple of churches, saw a 1000 year old olive tree, some decorative art by Gaugin and of course the wonderful Katedral. This is a truly wonderful building and inside there is a wealth of artistic features to admire, not least Gaugin's crown of thorns. This is a good company and I recommend them highly!
While on holiday in Puerto Pollensa as a family group we had a very relaxing time but wanted to see some of the rest of the island. The No Frills Office was situated on our route into the centre of the town overlooking the promenade. They provided a comprehensive choice of excursions to suit all tastes. So we chose for some of us to visit Palma on the Palmabus and arrived at our collection point on time. The bus was late but someone came to say there had been a problem with the coach and a replacement would arrive soon! A big tick for keeping us informed! The coach arrived with a multilingual tour guide who kept us well advised of our surroundings and itinerary. We enjoyed the tour around the city but were given plenty of time to explore ourselves too! Excellent! Our second tour was the part island tour taking us along the bendy bendy roads ( as Katy, the tour guide told us) of Sa Colobra, a boat trip to Puerto Soller, tram to Soller then train to Palma. Our guide Katy was great. Her English was superb and she had a good sense of humour. Along with this, her knowledge of Majorca was wonderful. Our ten year old grandson said it was the best day of his holiday! As we'd had a fantastic time anyway, that was praise indeed! Highly recommend No Frills Tours.
