On this FREE walking tour of Alcudia, we will meet at the Alcudia Tourist Office at 11:00 am, where our free tour will begin: a tour that will show us all the charms of this important town in the north of Mallorca.
From our starting point, we will walk to the Roman site of Pollentia, the most important Roman ruins on the island. From outside the historical complex, we will discover the entire history of this ancient Roman city, which was built as the capital of Mallorca before the existence of Palma.
Next we will go to the church of Sant Jaume, one of the indisputable symbols of the city. By the majestic churce we find the medieval walls and we will tell you about the importance of Alcudia throughout its history thanks to its strategic location. We will explore these 14th century walls, which we can actually walk upon.
We will continue the free tour of Alcudia passing through emblematic places as the Puerta de Mallorca or Sant Sebastiá. We will walk to the stately homes, distributed throughout the historic center of the city. The Renaissance style of these "casals" is one of its hallmarks. As we walk through the streets of this old town, steeped in history, you will be transported to times gone by.
To end the free guided walk, we will stop by the Town Hall and end the tour at the Puerta de Xara, one of the three gates of the medieval city. The tour will end at around 1:00 p.m.
