Discover Mallorca by coach, boat, train and tram on the Island Tour. This trip has it all: Beautiful mountain and coastal scenery, a ride on a vintage train, orange and lemon groves…

Island Tour overview:

What to expect on this trip:

The Island Tour excursion will keep you charmed all day thanks to its different parts: road, sea and rails, with plenty of free time in between. You will be taken down the spectacular west coast of Mallorca where you will see some of the most breathtaking views in the Mediterranean. There you will discover the UNESCO protected Serra de Tramuntana mountain range with our knowledgeable guide who will be giving you interesting information on the towns and sights we come across during the day.

Once everybody has been picked up by coach the tour proceeds to the stunning Tramuntana Mountain Range where we can enjoy the views that this area offers as we drive along the breathtaking and much photographed mountain road to Sa Calobra where you will be able to take some great photographs.

Then we will arrive at Sa Calobra where you will have free time to relax and enjoy the dreamy landscape. We always make sure we arrive early so we can see Sa Calobra at its best, when it's quiet and peaceful before other tour groups get there. This means that our clients can discover the Torrent de Paréis gorge at their leisure before the bustle begins.

After the visit to Sa Calobra we will board a modern boat that will take us to Puerto Soller. The journey by boat has a duration of approximately 40 minutes and along the way you will see spectacular views of this dramatic coastline that cannot be seen from the land.

On arrival in Puerto de Soller you will have have free time to explore, relax and have some lunch. Our guide can recommend a nice place for you to have lunch or you can stroll around looking for a place of your liking.

Once everybody has unwound and has had something to eat in Puerto Soller we will take the tram along the sea front and up through the orange and lemon orchards to the town of Soller where we will have time for a short visit around its charming historical centre before we board the famous Soller wooden train. We will follow the original journey which has barely changed in its 100 years of operation.

The train ride will take us across the impressive valley of Soller as we go through the tunnels in the mountains and the countryside until we reach the outskirts of Palma. There our coach will be awaiting us to head back to resort.

Reasons why you should book online:

  • Much cheaper prices compared to tour operators.
  • It is a hassle free way to ensure you make the most of your day. We have the day planned to the finest detail so that all that is left for you to do is enjoy the excursion.
  • Your places will be guaranteed on all the modes of transports included in the excursion: bus, boat, tram and train so you will avoid nasty surpirses like arriving and not being able to board, which would not be a pleasant experience.
  • Easy to book: confirm your details, secure online payment, receive your e-voucher and then we confirm your pick up details by e-mail.
  • Peace of mind: have your places guaranteed before you arrive in resort. You can either print the voucher or just show it on your smartphone, tablet or device.

Additional information about the Island Tour:

What is included in the price?

  • Return transport on an air conditioned coach (which will be the same coach all day meaning you can leave things onboard if you need to).
  • English speaking guide who will escort you throughout the day giving you a full commentary of the areas you visit.
  • Soller train journey (50 minutes).
  • Soller Tram Journey (25 minutes).
  • Boat trip from Sa Calobra to Puerto Soller (45 minutes).
  • Travel insurance

Lunch is not included, but we stop at Puerto Soller where there is time for lunch and a wide selection of cafes and restaurants.

Approximate timetable of the trip:

The excursion starts between 08:30-09:00 and it comes to an end at about  17:30-18:00.

Pick up point:

The pick-up point and time are confirmed to you after you have made your booking. You will be picked up at your hotel or a nearby meeting point. Once you make the reservation you will receive two emails:

  • A first one with all the details related to the booking which you can either print or show on the day of the excursion on your mobile phone or tablet.
  • A second email indicating the exact pick up point and the time you must be there.

Some practical information for the day of the excursion:

  • Don’t forget your photo camera, you will most definitely need it!
  • There will be time for lunch in Puerto Soller.
  • The boat trip is subject to weather and sea conditions. In the unlikely event that the boat trip is cancelled due to bad weather an alternative route will be taken by coach, missing out Sa Calobra and (when possible) taking a shorter boat trip in the bay of Puerto Soller. This is beyond our control and no refunds or partial refunds will be given if this occurs.

My wife and I booked the Island Tour (with bus, boat, tram and train) for September 26th! The bus pick-up point was a two minute walk from our hotel! Our guide was Albert who was very knowledgeable and entertaining about our excursion! I rented a car thinking we would tour the mountains in it, however, I am glad we took this excursion!! Our driver was very skilled as he maneuvered around the hairpin turns (this in a huge bus) with traffic coming towards us! Albert impressed us greatly with his enthusiasm and knowledge of the history of Majorca! All parts of the transportation were very enjoyable! I am very glad we found nofrills excursions on the internet! I would definitely recommend them for any excursions on Majorca!

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

The second Island Tour I have been on & as usual a good day ! Helpful staff at the booking office, the tour guide Albert gave us plenty of information about the tour & island also there was a light hearted side that made it all very enjoyable, only this time the camera at front of the bus was not on showing Xisco’s skill getting around the hairpin bends !

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

We have just come home from Alcudia,we went on this Island tour. We had the best say ever. Thankyou Cesco the driver & Albert the tour guide. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. We loved the drive through the mountain's,then the boat ride to Soller, then a wonder around the lovely town, then a great Tram ride, also the Train ride. We found it excellent value for money. It say's no frills, but it was so informative,& we had a good laugh throughout the day. Keep up the great work,& and take over the Island, lol. .

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

Thanks for a great day! Our guide was Dori and she made sure the day went like clockwork whilst still being attentive to all her “family”. You get to see some of the real gems of the island with the road down to Sa Colabra being the highlight. Respect to Fransico our driver who handled the switchback mountain roads with skill making it look effortless. The boat ride to Port Soller is stunning and the Tram and Train ride that complete the journey is like taking a trip back in time! Then safely delivered back to our hotel, weary but satisfied. Cannot recommend this day trip enough if you want to get out of your hotel and see something of the rural Majorca.

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

Absolutely brilliant from beginning to end. The drive through the mountains was hair raising in parts and the scenery stunning. Cisco the coach driver made it look easy! The boat trip was lovely. Puerto Soller was a great stop for a stroll and lunch. Very pretty with lots of shops and restaurants. We then had the tram ride to Soller followed by the train ride. We thoroughly enjoyed our day. Albert, the guide, was so informative and always interesting. He told us so much about Majorca that we would never have known otherwise and had a brilliant sense of humour. The tour was very professionally led. He is a credit to the company.Cannot speak highly enough of the tour or Albert. Would highly recommend

We were picked up by coach from our hotel, which was just outside Puerto Pollensa. Our guide, Albert, welcomed us and asked us to take seats that he specified. I asked if we could move due to lack of legroom, and although this clearly messed up the seating plan, to his credit Albert agreed to the request and from then on did his best to make us feel welcome on the trip. Our driver, Rafa, had a considerable job on his hands in negotiating what must be some of the hairiest mountain roads in Europe. The best compliment I can give him is that he made it look and feel easy, and we felt safe - top marks. Albert is both passionate and extremely knowledgeable about his subject, and it was a huge bonus to learn so much about the history of Majorca as well as seeing a good part of this glorious country. The drive through the mountains, which includes a stop at a beauty spot, is truly awe-inspiring. The boat trip is relaxing and comfortable, the views are spectacular and the beers are cold. You get an hour so to mooch around Port de Soller and have a bite to eat before meeting up for the ride on the tram to the train station. This requires fortitude as it's crowded and extremely hot, but it's not that long before you arrive at the station, where you can buy an ice cream to cool yourself off before having a stroll round Soller. The train then wends its way through attractive suburbs and on through glorious countryside to a stop just outside Palma, where you pick up the bus back to your hotel. There's nothing not to love about this trip. Thank you, Albert, Rafa and No Frills for guiding us through such a memorable day in this beautiful country.

Recently returned from our holiday in Majorca. Whilst there we decided to book a trip around the island on the Sunday the tip involves taking a Coach,Boat,Tram and Train.I have done this particular trip on Several occasions over the years whilst in Majorca and its always a good chance to see some of the island. On this occasion we booked with No Frills Tours Don't Be Fooled by the name, yes it was slightly cheaper than some of the Obvious and big named company's BUT we have never enjoyed a trip so much. Not only was our guide ALBERT polite and welcoming he was so informative .His approach was great this was not the usual boring guided tour yes he spoke of the history in some detail of the different locations throughout the day but he certainly entertained us with his humour .He kept it light and had everyone waiting to hear the next story, even my teenage daughter Who we initially we had to drag on the tour enjoyed the day which i believe is all down to Albert.I can honestly say that I learned more from Albert about Majorca on that trip than from all the other guides and companies over 20yrs of visiting Majorca.anyone thinking of doing any trip whilst in Majorca I would Definitely recommend No Frills Tours and hopefully you may get Albert Thanks J Guy

We went yesterday on the tour with No Frills Excursions, firstly don’t let the name fool you, the tour was exactly the same as the ones offered by tui or Thomas cook, but at a much lower price. The first part of the day was a drive through the mountains expertly negotiated by our driver Cisco with interesting commentary by our guide Albert. After a stop to stretch our legs, we took a boat trip along the coast to Port Soller. Time to relax and have some lunch before a trip on a tram to the town of Soller and a train ride back to Palma where we get back on the bus to take us back to our hotels, both the tram and the train are over 100 years old. A great way to see some of the island and learn some the history, thanks guys.

A group of 19 Irish hillwalkers took a day off from their activity to enjoy this great tour. Juan was our guide, I can not remember the drivers name, but they were terrific. How Juan was able to switch from English to French to German and Spanish was amazing. The tour itself was most enjoyable, and very reasonably priced.I would highly recommend this company.

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

The best trip I and my lovely girlfriend have so far,I always love trains and with my super power I have convinced my girlfriend to book this trip before we leave Majorca, first I was a little bit worried but with confident coach driver Sebastian and tour guide Marga ,we have amazing day. I will 100% recomend the trip . Thanks to all nofrills team.

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

Loved this trip. Our Guide, Albert, was very knowledgeable and also very funny. On the Train from Soller to Palma, some people were in our Carriage by mistake and they commented on how different he was compared to their Guide who seemed a little less interested to say the least. Have to mention the Driver , Cisco, aswell. He had the patience of a Saint going through the mountains having to crawl past the thousands of amateur race cyclists that we encountered all over the island. After a short stop in the mountains it was down to the boat for a run down the coast to the Port of Soller, which is a lovely place, if a little tired. We then went on the vintage tram to Soller to catch the Train. the Tram was wedged full and we had to stand. It was pretty uncomfortable, but that's not the tour operators fault. I imagine in the height of Summer it would be a good way to sweat off a few kilos on the short journey. The Train from Soller down to the outskirts of Palma serves no other purpose than to get you back to the coaches. The scenery is nice, but having been through the mountains it's nothing special. It is however explained by the Guide the reason for this part of the journey helps to pay to keep the service running for the locals etc, so in reality you are doing a good thing by not complaining about it ! You cannot beat this company for value. They offer exactly what other operators give for a fraction of the cost.

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

The so-called “Island Tour” was never going to cover the whole island but what it did do was to provide a very good value-for-money tour of the western side of Northern Majorca in the hands of people who not only seemed to be very professional but who had fun doing it. The lady at the office, Marjolein, spoke excellent English and was friendly and helpful as was Margo our guide (accompanied by Henry the elephant) and Cisco our coach driver. One of the most helpful suggestions was that we could book ahead for lunch at Puerto Soller which we did, enjoying an excellent lunch for two for 26 euros. Considering that we had, in effect, a coach tour, a boat trip and tram and train trips we think it to be very good value for money and great fun. Surely one of the best trips offered by no frills excursions. A very warm thank you to all concerned.Trevor and Annie Boys from Rugby.

We’ve been on the Island Tour today with Albert. It was Sa Colobra, boat trip to Port Sóller, tram to Sóller where the heavens opened, train to almost Palma and back. Really enjoyed it and It was made more enjoyable by the quirky and knowledgable. Albert. We also saved a good amount on the same trip with other bigger players in this game. Well done No Frills!

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

Went on this trip last week and had an amazing day out and great value for money. The trip starts on a coach and takes you to a high point of the island, and what a journey that is with windy roads and breathtaking views. When at the top you get off coach for a short while but if you want to use the toilets the owners charge you 0.50 euro cents for the privelige. You then get taken back down the hills to a Port Sa Colobra where you have about 45 minutes to eat and drink. The next part of the trip takes you on a boat to Port Sollier, wow beautifull place. After about an hour to sightsee we were taken aboard a tram for about 20 minutes to Sollier town, again wow what a beautifull quaint town. After a short break its onto a old train and on our way to Palma. The last part of the day and back on the coach back to your respective hotels. We really enjoyed this trip and the Marga our rep was very nice and helpfull.

my partner and i went on this tour on May 2 2018. From the very start the tour guide Albert was a terrific ambassador for No frills Excursions. Despite standing at the wrong bus stop we were picked up without fuss. Given a very warm welcome and shown, yes shown to our seats. Albert was constantly updating us with facts and directions about what we would see for the day and what could be seen out of the coach window. At this point i will mention our driver Jambo, i hope i have remembered his name correctly, did a fantastic job of steering us around steep and winding roads and avoiding the large number of cyclists. The itinery included 'The knot of the tie' on the road to Sa Colobra, Torreint Pareis, Port of Soller and finally the town of Soller. Throughout the day Albert ensured that everybody was briefed and understood where they had to be and at what time. He always waited until the whole group was together before telling us what we needed to know. He had a good grasp of english humour which is often lacking in tours of this nature. Are there any downsides, yes there are not enough guides of Alberts calibre. As for the tour itself we both felt it was good value and it really is a full day and you get to see a very varied portrait of what Mallorca has to offer. Well done to Albert, Jambo and No Frills we highly recommend you.

Island Tour, Puerto Pollensa - Wednesday 11th October. Absolutely brilliant day made all the more fantastic by superb guide Albert.

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

Fantastic trip under the guidance of Juan who made it an extra memorable day, great combination of modes of transport in wonderful scenery and terrific company made it a super trip to celebrate our 51st wedding aniversary.

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

We went on the island tour last week and what an incredible day we had. The tour is planned to perfection. Thanks to the amazing driver Francisco who negotiated the mountain road and got us to the top safely. We also had tour guide Albert who had incredible knowledge of the area and didn't stop talking for hours! The timings were perfect, stops for photos/ice cream and lunch were the right length of time. Personnally I dislike paying for a tour and have 2-3 hours free time so this suited me. I highly recommend this tour as it was one of the best I have ever been on for organisation. Coach, boat, tram and train, what more could you want on a day out! Don't forget to take your camera.

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

Excellent company and staff/guides. Have been visiting Alcudia well since 1988 and did our first No Frills trips around 2006. The island tour is far the best value and day out, always to be repeated my us. This time I brought a friend to the island who was most impressed with the trip and Alcudia. My husband and I will be returning later in the year and yes another tour.

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

Absolutely fantastic day, excellent way to see the mountains, coastline, a truly well organised trip, would recommend this as a must do

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

Our Island tour was only made better by the great guide Juan along with his trusted driver Xisco and Henry the mascot who made sure we didn't get lost... The tour was well run, great value for money and very enjoyable. Spectacular scenery, knowledgeable and friendly guide... what more could you need...

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

I can't say enough about this tour and the tour guide catalina she was just amazing she was so naturally pashionate about all things majorcan it was just a joy to listen to her. Some tour guides have their one cheesey jokes but everything Catalina said was so convincing informative. I can't recommend no frills enough and my only regret is I was there long enough to go on any more tours with them

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

We booked the island tour that included a boat trip, tram from the Port of Soller and train from Soller based on reviews on tripadvisor, and we weren't disappointed. We were picked up at a convenient spot close to our apartment in Puerto Pollensa and left on time - early in fact so there was no hanging about waiting to get going. Our guide Dori was great - full of info and really friendly. The trip was well organised and whilst it wasn't cheap we thought it was good value as it meant we were able to see parts of the island we wouldn't have done otherwise. I would definitely book another trip with No Frills again.

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

This trip is really amazing first you go by coach up the mountain to see great scenic views of the island then you go by boat to a place called Soller once again with fantastic views of the island by sea , then a tram ride on the original 1912 trams, and follow that with a ride on the original train that transported oranges and lemons way back from 1911. Then it's a ride back by coach to your hotel . What really made the trip was the guide ( who was always talking ) JUAN was just BRILLIANT he told us everything you could possibly want to know and a lot more , he was informative but more than anything he was FUNNY AND FRIENDLY. A special mention also for FERNANDO the coach driver he was EXCELLENT the way he manoeuvred the coach around the tight hairpin roads 600 metres above sea level was nothing short of phenomenal. A trip I could recommend totally . Also a special mention for "NO FRILLS EXCURSIONS " a brilliant company providing an excellent service ,obviously run by people who want holiday makers to sample local culture etc without being ripped off by holiday firms . Just by booking through them we saved €50 on the same trip offered by our rep . THANK YOU NOFRILLSEXCURSIONS for providing us all with lovely memories of our visit to Majorca

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

We booked the island tour whilst staying in Alcudia. Our guide was Alberto who was absolutely fantastic! He was full of passion for his job and gave us good information all day on the island and its history. The tour involved a coach up into the mountains, a boat trip, (we saw under the gorge just before boarding the boat), a tram ride in a beautiful seaside town and then on to a stunning old fashioned train which showed us the lemon and orange groves of the area and went through so many tunnels. All in all I'd say this is the best trip I've ever done abroad (and I've done a lot) with hands down the nicest guide Alberto. Highly recommend!

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

Brilliant tour to get a real feel for the true Majorcan countryside - bus throught he mountains with wonderful and dramatic views, boat between 2 small ports, tram&train through olive&lemon groves of Soller. Tour guide and driver ( both named Juan) were both excellent

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

Booked the island tour yesterday for the trip today. Service in the No Frills office was very good. Picked up on time for the tour today. Enjoyed a hugely scenic coach trip through the mountains which included a stop off for a coffee at a view point. The tour leader Albert was interesting and amusing throughout. The coach dropped us at Port de Sal Calobra where a short walk takes you to a stunning cove that looks like something from Jurassic park. We then boarded a boat for a scenic trip along the coast and the stunning cliffs to Port de Sóller where we had time for lunch before taking the old tram to Sóller town. After a quick ice cream break we boarded the old train to Palma which winds through the mountains and many tunnels. The coach was there to pick us up and take us home when we got off. The organisation of the tour was excellent, Albert was always on hand if you need anything and was very clear in directions, times and meeting points. The bus driver was also superb. The tour does take quite a lot of time (around 9 hours I think) and at the hight of summer as it is now the temperatures of 32c or more can challenging at times but we all enjoyed it (including 5 year old daughter and 12 year old son) just remember to take sun cream, hats and to drink plenty or water.

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

we were collected promptly very near the hotel. Our guide was Juan - most lovely person! Juan entertained us with jokes and lots of information as the coach travelled inland up and down the mountains. The roads are not for the faint hearted as they are steep and narrow but Juan said James was 'the best driver in the world'. we safely navigated the mountains and stopped at a cafe for refreshments, where we could take in the glorious mountainous views - stunning! Then back on the coach down to the port. We has about 20 minutes to admire the beautiful port. It was actually a secluded cove. We boarded the boat and travelled close to the shore to admire the rock formations and sea views. We went on a lovely tram but I cannot remember much about that bit of the day. We then travelled to Port de Soller. It was stunning! It actually felt very 'Italian Riviera' with its pizzas and ice-creams. We explored the town. I bought some Sketchers trainers for €45 - bargain! The church here was gorgeous. It was quiet and dark and a welcome peace in all the holiday excitement. Next, it was time for the train ride. It's an old, original train that's rickety and authentic. We sat on the balcony between carriages rather than in a carriage. We travelled high into the mountains with excellent panoramic views. There were tunnels through the rock, one being 2 km long which was cold - a rare feeling in the height of summer! Finally the train pulled into a little station and the coach was was there waiting to take us back to the hotel. A BRILLIANT day out with FANTASTIC staff who are worth their weight in gold! They could be bored and indifferent, doing the same trips each day, but they weren't . We were made to feel special from start to finish.

  • puntopuntopuntopuntopunto

We booked to do the Tour of Majorca through No Frills excursions and it turned out to be the highlight of our holiday. The air-conditioned coach picked us up near to our hotel and we were greeted by our guide for the day, a gentleman called Juan and our driver, James. We climbed the Tramuntana mountains to a cafe where we stopped for a drink and ice-creams. The journey is lovely with fantastic views and plenty of photo opportunities. We followed the mountain road to the beautiful port of Sa Calobra. We had half an hour here before boarding a yacht for a cruise lasting approximately 45 minutes - the coastline is beautiful and we were taken to the Port of Soller. We had an hour here to browse the shops and restaurants before boarding a tram to the centre of Soller - again, there is a small stop here before boarding a train to Palma where you meet the bus - which took us to the door of our hotel. Be prepared for a long day - but a very rewarding day. The views of the island are amazing and it was good to get away from the tourist route and experience the island from the Mallorcan's point of view. I have to praise the tour guide Juan - he told us he had done this particular tour on lots of occasions - but he spoke with an infectious enthusiasm that can't fail to impress. He answered questions patiently and with great knowledge and really went out of his way to ensure that everybody had a great day. Thank you Juan. I would definitely recommend this excursion to anybody who goes to Majorca.
