Wine and Cheese Tasting Activity Information

We have prepared an ideal tasting activity for those who enjoy the pleasure of drinking wine and eating cheese, two ingredients that pair perfectly. It is not a professional tasting, simply a way to have fun, eating and getting to know the rich gastronomy of Mallorca. Do not expect boring and lengthy technical lectures either: explaining the PH of the wine, the malolactic fermentation, etc.

We will give you some explanations, but focused on curious details and the history of each wine and each cheese, because each of the products that we have chosen has something fascinating.

Wine tasting is something that promotes mixed feelings from everyone. You’ll either roll your eyes at the apparent pretentiousness of it all with ‘hints of strawberry and oak’ ringing in your ears, or you’ll relish the opportunity to savour new flavours, identify hidden ingredients and maybe, date the grape variety. Or, you just enjoy the taste of wine and think it might be a nice way to spend an evening? We booked this activity with no fuss and received good confirmation with an accommodating pick up point at our hotel. Driver turned up as planned, spoke excellent English and explained that we were collecting one more couple before going to the venue. Where the venue was should have been clear to me as we were picked up in a minibus with the Stables logo emblazoned on the side. And when we arrived we were immediately welcomed by Miguel who explained how the evening was going to pan out and invited us to wander around the lovely small stables with local farm animals we could interact with. We eventually sat in our own groups, couples etc and Miguel explained what was going to happen with help from the owner, his English wife (I’m sorry, I forgot her name). And this wasn’t an evening you needed to roll your eyes, or one you should waste time in trying to catch a hint of elderflower or pine as you sniff in the glass. It was simply to enjoy good wine. Miguel gave fascinating stories in the birth of the wines, how they happened and who the creators were. Then dared you to not like it! He produced 4 carefully chosen wines that complimented the evening perfectly and with the small but filling bread, pate and jams, and the local cheeses which were all wonderful, the evening came to an all too early conclusion. It was a calm, quiet and peaceful setting despite only a stones throw away from a bustling Alcudia, but with the smell of the animals and the sight of resting horses, the amusing and pleasant delivery by Miguel and the gentle Bristolian tones of his supporting wife, this was an evening that was as enjoyable as it can get.

We thoroughly enjoyed the wine and cheese tasting, very generous portions of wine and we couldn’t resist taking some goats cheese and almond jam home. We enjoyed the small group experience, efficient transfers and a look round the traditional farm animals.

We did the cheese and wine tasting. There was 4 cheeses and 4 wines with some dips and we talked through all the background of were on the island they came from and who made them. Staff were enthusiastic and knowledgeable about what we were tasting their passion and pride for the products and the island of Majorca was very evident. We were only 10 people so we all got an easy opportunity to ask questions and chat through the experience which made the experience enjoyable.

We really enjoyed this. Lovely informal experience with nice wine, tasty cheese and just the right amount of talking. The pick up from Puerto Pollensa was very efficient and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed a walk round the farm and then the chance to try the local Mallorcan produce. Would thoroughly recommend.

Myself and my 3 friends came to do the wine and cheese tasting. Tony was teaching us. We had such an amazing time! The location is so cool - on a ranch, there’s goats and farm animals you can pet! Tony was very informative and friendly (as were the other staff) The cheese and wine were delicious!

I really enjoyed this experience, the wines were different to othes that i had found in the supermarkets and in other places, the only niggle is that i found it difficult to find the meeting point but in the end we got there.Thankyou for a plesant afternoon.

Both my wife and i had a nice time at this event. When we go on holiday we like to try diferent wines from the area and this gave us the opportunity to smple several without having to buy many bottles. The cheeses were all local and i especially enjoyed the two goats cheeses.
