With this excursion we will give you the opportunity to discover the city of Palma de Mallorca, capital of the Balearic Islands in the most hassle-free and comfortable way. You will be able to make the most out of your day thanks to all the useful information our guide will share with you during the journey. Enjoy a full day of shopping and sightseeing with No Frills Excursions as you get an insight into Mallorca's rich and interesting culture.
On the way to Palma, our guide will give you valuable and interesting information as well as a map of Palma City so that you can plan the day ahead in the most comfortable way, on our air conditioned coach. Our guide will give you the best suggestions for sightseeing and shopping in Palma so that all that's left for you to do is to decide how you want to spend your day and enjoy.
Once we get to Palma, we will stay on the coach and make an interesting sightseeing tour (approx 60 minutes). We will pass the habour, the cruise port and Palma Cathedral, with a 20 minutes stop at the San Carlos Castle from where we can enjoy spectacular views of Palma’s port. (Please note that on Mondays, as the castle is closed, there is no stop there.)
Once we have seen Palma's most important sights, we will drop you off opposite the cathedral, which is a five minute walk from the shopping area and Palma's historical area. From this moment you have more than four and a half hours of free time to explore the old town, visit the cathedral or go shopping. Shopping in Palma is a great experience as you have a wide selection of shops that range from luxurious boutiques to large department stores and well-known retailers.
As you also have time for lunch in the city we suggest that you don't miss out on the opportunity to savour some typical Spanish and Mallorcan food. Therefore we recommend visiting La Lonja, the tapas area in Palma de Mallorca and the old fisherman’s port.
This excursion was voted as the best value for money day out last year by our customers who said to have got their money's worth with an unbeatable service.
We also offer a more complete option to visit Palma, which includes all the above plus a 45 minutes guided walk with a licensed guide, entrance to the cathedral and a 45 minutes guided visit with live comentary in the cathedral:
You can also add to this same Palmabus excursion, a 60 minutes boat trip in the Port of Palma:
There is no better value for money option to go to Palma than this excursion, just see all the things included in the price! Plus you have a guaranteed seat on the bus, unlike the public bus where you may have to queue and could be left behind in Palma making a costly taxi the only option to return to resort.
The excursion starts at about 09:30 and gets back to resort at around 18:00
The pick-up point and time are confirmed to you after you have made your booking. You will be picked up at your hotel or a nearby meeting point. Once you make the reservation you will receive two emails:
my friends and I did thi excursion in august 2018. What I can say? the Driver Cisco and the guide Jeannine was very professional and nice. the visited guide is interesting and the free time in Palma during the afternoon is perfect to visit the city, do shopping or taste tipical food like tapas
We had a lovely trip to Palma on Friday 25th May. Our guides were Jeanne and our driver was Cisco. Jeanne was very knowledgeable, and the walking tour around Palma was interesting, as was the visit to the spectacular cathedral. Booking was straightforward, as was the pick up and drop off on the day. Many thanks for a lovely day.
Decided to book a trip to Palma after reading leaflet in hotel room, easy to book via hotel, picked up at hotel, very pleasant guide Jeanette who easily conversed in English then German, very informative, nice touch have a panoramic tour, then a visit to military museum to take photos looking over the bay, then back on bus, then to be dropped off for our ‘free time’ in Palma. Map provided with routes that had been highlighted, ie shopping and old town which proved very helpful. Prompt pick up then dropped off back at hotel. Would certainly use this company again when travelling abroad. Fab
Die Busfahrt mit Franzisco war sehr angenehm. Der Bus komfortabel. Die Reiseleiterin Jeannie hat uns viele Informationen über Land und Leute gegeben.
Fantastic value for money at €18.50. The guide Lorenzo was friendly and informative. For an extra €16 I got an hours boat trip and entrance to the cathedral. It is well worth purchasing the ticket in advance as the queue was enormous and I just walked straight in. I would definitely recommend this as it was going to cost lots more for the same thing with my tour operator. Thank you for a fantastic day.
Brilliant! No other way we could describe it, Lorenzo and Fernando were great. Information was on point, no hassle, no agitation. We had a whole day in Palma and the advice given from Lorenzo lead to a great day. Would definitely recommend.
Had a great day out to Palma...our rep Lornzo was very helpful and spoke English...advising us of the best places to see in the city...would definitley use this company again. Thanks.
Simple Palma day sightseeing and 4-5 hours left to wander. Our guide Pete from Yorkshire was helpful, friendly and very informative. We booked other tours via Local TUI rep before finding No Frills and whilst they were OK they were 15% dearer. If you like Cathedrals etc Palma will not disappoint.
Booked a coach trip to Palma from our villa in Alcudia. Great experience from the booking through to the trip itself. Staff in the office were very friendly and helpful , explaining exactly what was included. We booked for 6 adults and were picked up barely 50 metres from our villa. Our guide 'Yorkshire Pete' was superb and a font of knowledge about anything Majorca. A nice wander through the side streets of the capital to the beautiful Cathedral. We also booked a boat trip on the Marco Polo around the bay. The 5 hour trip flew by. I would highly recommend booking a trip through 'No Frills' .
Booked our day trip to Palma through the hotel and thought it was good value for money. Tour of Palma lasting about an hour with our guide Lorenzo (who was fab) giving us plenty of information about where to visit and how to take care of ourselves and our personal belongings. Plenty of time to then explore the city independently and we visited the Hard Rock Cafe and then the cathedral with time to spare to sit in a cafe with an iced cold drink to watch the world go by. Lorenzo also provided us with his mobile number in case we got lost or something happened and we needed his help. Fab company and would highly recommend them to anybody wanting to explore the island more.
We choose to book a tour with No Frills Excursion to Palma because of all the positive comments on TripAdvisor. I can't fault the organisation, we where picked up exactly on time and greeted by our tour guide Melanie and the driver Josè. They made the journey to Palma very pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed the day. The only let down was the bus was a little dated and a bit dirty. Great experience overall :)
Cathedral was beautiful was well worth a visit beautiful views too.. the weather was glorious and shopping was well worth the journey too ..
No frills excursions offered a very nice package to Palma. Very friendly and helpful staff including our tour guide, a spacious double decker coach which was well air conditioned and clean. Interesting tour around the city with spectacular views before being let loose on the city for us to explore ourselves! Also offered discount rates to the cathedral which we thoroughly enjoyed, a free drink and tapas was included in our package. Overall this was a great experience!
Myself and my boyfriend went on the excursion to Palma. We were picked up on time at a bar near our hotel. Our guide Pete was fantastic and clearly knew a lot about the island, it was extremely interesting to listen to him and he also had a great sense of humour that really made the day. At 18 euros a person I think the trip was great value for money. Recommend visiting Palma cathedral which you can buy tickets for on the coach, for a cheaper price and these tickets also mean you can skip the queue! Would definitely recommend No Frills to anyone.
Went with no frills excursion today to Palma, the coach picked us up at 10:30 outside spar by our hotel it only took around 50 mins to get there we then had over 4 and half hours free time round Palma, our driver was fab and our tour guide was brilliant Lorenzo I think he name was, we learnt so many interesting things will definitely be booking with no frills again, thanks for a great day
We have been to Palma today from Ca n Picafort - overall the trip was well organised and the guide was friendly and approachable. When we were picked up,we were provided with a map of Palma along with suggestions of places to visit once in the city and along the way, the guide gave us interesting facts about Majorca. Once We were dropped off, we had plenty of time to sightsee and shop to our hearts content! The only downside of the trip was the "offer" of free tapas and a drink at a shopping centre. We were given a voucher but when we arrived, the tapas turned out to be fish paella and a small drink (small meaning tiny!). I know it was offered free but to be honest, it wasn't worth wasting your time.
We took the PalmaBus Excursion as a couple last week and felt it was good value for the money. We had Lorenzo as a tour guide. He is local but truly fluent in English and German giving you a choice of languages to communicate in. We booked late online and found we weren't expected on the bus when it arrived but this was quickly and efficiently ironed out. If you buy online you can just show the ticket on your mobile phone and you can buy in Sterling or Euros. Lorenzo took his job seriously and was knowledgeable and effiecient. We especially loved the comfortable, air conditioned bus which picked us up from opposite our hotel on time. We liked the way you could choose where to get off the bus in Palma and we were shown the pick-up point before we got off. And we liked the way that we could get Cathedral tickets for €6 from Lorenzo rather than for €7 on the door. And Lorenzo didn't hard sell his two optional extras: Cathedal tickets and boat trip tickets. Appreciated him looking clean and tidy too. If you like Cathedrals then Palma Cathedral won't disappoint you. Lovely clean city. You'll also be given a detailed map. We gave the El Corte Ingles shopping centre a miss, it's really just like Debenhams, but enjoyed wandering through the city in our 4.5 hours' free time. We ate in a local cafe, with some Mallorcans, very cheaply. We also didn't bother with the drink and Tapas ticket as we preferred more "authentic" establishments. Fantastic photographic opoortunities. We had a few minutes to take photos at a coastal viewpoint; nice enough but not spectucular if you are a seasoned photographer. For €17.50/£13.80 per adult you can't go wrong. Take water with you and wear sensible shoes. Palma was roasting hot so go prepared. There's no toilet on the coach, which was a bit of a pain as the one at our drop off point was out of order.
Just returned from fabulous day trip to Palma. Our guide Pete went over and above what may have been expected. For only €18 we left alcudia at 10 and returned at 6. During our tour Pete shared cultural geographical and historical info. He was lighthearted and caring. Heartily recommend this tour. Your guests from lago park
We thought the day trip to Palma was excellent value and very good if you have never visited the city, which is large. We were given a map marked with relevant areas.to visit and had a coach tour before visiting San Carlos Casrle where there were lovely views of the city and port. We were dropped at El Corte Ingles at about midday and had five hours free time. Discounted tickets were offered to visit the cathedral which is well worth seeing and also for a harbour cruise. We enjoyed our day and would recommend..
This is the second excursion taken with no frills over the last two years. We booked on the Palma bus with Pete and driver Fernando, again we were not disappointed! Lots of local, interesting knowledge and very friendly. Pete was a great guide very funny and informative, even offering to do a tour of Palma when we arrived to give us some insider knowledge. Great value for money again and would definitely recommend.

We did the palma bus trip that they arrange, there are a couple of versions but we did the drop of In old town Palma and then met up with the bus later. Lorenzo was a fabulous guide, well informed and funny, making sure everyone new the meeting place and the usual survival information you get for any city. The coach was clean and comfy, and I would recommend these tour people to every one.
Good day out for a very reasonable price. The downside is the time taken to get there because of the number of pickup points. But Pete, the guide on the bus was excellent, informative and friendly. The bus is comfortable and drop off and pick up points in Palma convenient and well placed. Short tour along the coast past the marinas also good.
We booked this company at the desk in Can Picafort, after reading such good reviews on Tripadvisor. Unfortunately, I am somewhat disappointed with the service. The bus pick up was 25 minutes late, we were getting to the point where we thought we had been left behind!. There were two other ladies waiting at the same point as us, who pick up time was five minutes after us! not sure what that was. After several pick ups we set off for Palma, Mathilda the tour guide started off explaining everything in both English and German, to accomodate the passengers, but we soon realised that a lot more information was being given out to the majority german passengers than the English. We realisedt this when we were told details of the pick up point for our return journey. I worked out from her commentary that the german passengers were given the street name and the location on that street, (outside the bank) something we were not given. All English passengers were confused about where exaclty we were to be picked up ,and got barked at by Mathilda when we tried to confirm the details. On arrival at Palma, we were somewhat non plussed to have the Hard Rock Cafe pointed out to us.... and the best disco in Palma? it wat 10.30am in the morning? The commentary was not the best we have had on tours. Having said that our afternoon in Palma was very enjoyable and the pick up was on time. Unfortunately, a couple of the bus did not make it back, and Mathilda waited behind in Palma for them, so the rest of us could leave. I think we just got a bad tour guide, judging by the comments on here about other guides.
We thoroughly enjoyed our day out from Puerto Pollenca to Palma, in the company of our tour guide Peter. He was a wealth of local knowledge and kept us all informed and amused along the route. The coach was lovely and clean and arrived at both pick up points on time and was driven very professionally. This is the second no frills excursion we have done and both have been super value for money and delivered great family days out. Highly recommended Visited May 2015
By far one of the best organised trips have been on both driver and guide were professional and polite while carrying out the tour. Nothing was forced on you or did you feel pressurised into buying any extras. I would recommend this company to anyone staying in the north of Majorca as certainly they offer value for money and a professional service. Visited June 2015
We made the trip from Puerto de Pollensa to Palma and found it an enjoyable and rewarding day out. We learnt a lot about the island from the excellent guide, Michael, and were expertly driven by Cisco. We avoided all the hassle of driving around and finding parking space in an unfamiliar city and were given lots of time to explore the shops, cathedral, etc. Terrific value, but be warned, no loo on the coach! If this is your first visit to mallorca (as it was for us), this introduction to the capital well worthwhile. As usual with no frills, our guide was helpful and the visit to castell de San Carlos was worthwhile for the views alone. The complimentary wine and tapa were a welcome finish to a busy day. Great value for money!
Oh dear! in the past we have had fantastic tours with No Frills but the Palma Bus was not a good experience. May be it was because the guide had only been on the job for a week (staff training?) or because the temperature was in the low 40's but we all were getting mixed messages on a further excursion around Palma (was it on a bus? was it for 1 or 2 hours, I think he said 5 eur) Very little information when we stopped in the centre of Palma outside the big department store el cortre englise apart from "Go and see that guide over there with the orange top". Saw the other No Frills guide further along the busy pavement and having caught up with him inside the store he told us where to find our free tapas and drink and were the information desk was to get our 10% discount card (no cash refund, discount only to be spent on further purchases (sneaky). Also found out that he was the guide for the 1 hour walking tour for 5 eur. With the heat at 43oC we spent most of the time in the store as it was at least 15 mins walk to the front. No doubt a good marketing deal between No Frills and el corte englese. Would have been better if the tour guide had been trained and had some knowledge. Wish we had gone on the rustic tour again, now that is good value! Visited July 2015
Booked online for Mon 13th July from Cala San Vicente only to receive an email advising that it only operates from that area of the island on a Friday and would I like to change the day or make my own way to Puerto Pollensa to get the bus. I let them know that neither was an option and within 30 mins had another email advising they'd made special arrangements for the bus to come out to pick us up Promptly at 9.20 this morning the bus arrived driven by Tisco. He was a joy from the minute we got on until he dropped us off at 6pm this evening He was abley accompanied by Pete, our guide who had a never ending stream of local info interspersed with humour I would have no hesitation in using them again and would definitely recommend them to anyone considering one of their many excursions Visited July 2015
