Vermar is the name of our favourite local fiesta in Mallorca. It’s the Binissalem wine festival that takes place towards the end of September. All the locals get dressed up in traditional dress and there is an impressive procession of floats through the streets. There’s all kinds of music and merrymaking. We take you by air-conditioned coach to the centre of Mallorca's wine-growing and wine-producing region, with pretty countryside and a backdrop of vineyards. We drop you in the heart of Binissalem town where you can walk to the main square and get involved in the annual wine celebrations.
At this festival, everything is based around wine, of course. That means tasting it, smelling it, learning about how it’s made and, of course, drinking it! Soak up the atmosphere as you watch the locals performing the typical dances and as you join them in filling up your glass at the wine barrels around the main square. You will find local products on sale made from wine or from grapes, such as jam, cakes and, of course, wine!
On the main evening of the celebrations, there is dancing in the local square, stalls selling local products and a huge wine barrel in the square for people to help themselves. You'll be able to buy traditional snacks a the stalls to have a taste of the Mallorcan streetfood as well.
It’s one not to miss. We hope you can join us.
